It all began in the summer/fall of 2019. Izzy had just become a registered nurse in 2018 and was living with some girlfriends in a house in Denver. Nic was also living in Denver working part-time in broadcast while obtaining a masters in Creative Writing. Both successful young 20 year olds and as most 20 year old do, found themselves on a popular dating app.. Hinge. Nic "liked" a photo on Izzy's profile and Izzy claimed Nic's profile reminded her of a Bon Iver album cover.

Their app conversations soon blossomed into something much more, right before the start of another special encounter... COVID. Despite the challenges, being quarantined together with Izzy's roommates and then eventually in their first apartment, allowed Izzy and Nic to squeeze a theoretical 5-10 years of quality time into only 2 years. At that time they also decided to get their first dog together, Otis. It wasn't long before Nic and Izzy started talking about their plans to start a farm in the Colorado countryside, or open their own bar, or open their own restaurant, or open a flower stand.. TBD what their next idea will be.

In February 2022, Izzy and Nic's travels led them back to one of their favorite places-- Moab, Utah. Their weekend trip started at Arches National Park, where they hiked the Park Ave Trail. Izzy had never seen Nic so off, as he was nervously keeping his hands in the many pockets of his cargo pants. Izzy followed Nic as he stepped off trail to reach for something in his pocket and as he knelt down on the loose rocks... he pulled out an engagement ring.

Izzy and Nic currently live in Denver, Colorado with their dog, Otis, counting down the days until their special day!
