It was love at first wee-snaw. Seriously. The first time they texted, Bri asked Jack what his dogs name was. Jack responded with, Mystery. Bri said, Like the seahorse from Spongebob - Mystery wee-snaw! Then she second guessed herself while waiting for his response, thinking it may have been too soon to show off her vast Spongebob knowledge. Suddenly, Jack responded, Exactly like Spongebob! They talked all night about common interests, places theyd traveled, and places they wanted to go. Bri started her first year of medical school at WVU that fall, and Jack was in his second year of law school. Conveniently, they lived in apartments only 1 street apart and were able to spend a lot of time quarantined together while school was virtual.

They continued to spend a lot of time together studying. They also enjoyed taking Mystery on hikes, cooking meals, watching an array of movies and television shows, and cheering on their favorite sports teams: Steelers, Hokies, Mets, and Pirates. They were even able to squeeze in a few trips to Wytheville for some long weekends at the farm.

They moved in together the following school year and adopted a second dog—Elaine. Jack was accepted to the Tax LL.M. program at Georgetown University in DC upon graduating law school. Bri transferred to a satellite campus of WVU Medicine for her 3rd and 4th years to be near Jack, and they moved to Hagerstown, Maryland. Jack proposed on August 6, 2022, while surrounded by their friends, family, and dogs at the Hagerstown Dog Park — Bris favorite spot in their new town.
