Ella and Jack first met in January of 2018 while working at a local restaurant in downtown Lee's Summit, Jack as a cook and Ella as a server. After a few months of flirting (and Ella getting tired of waiting), she decided to ask Jack out for drinks the day of what was supposed to be her last shift. I don't think either expected these drinks to turn into 8 years of love, but it quickly became apparent to both just how strong their connection was. The early days of their relationship was filled with late night outs after getting off at the restaurant, cozy days inside the Overland Park house that Ella was renting with friends, and far too much time spent making and eating soup. After a little over a year together, Ella and Jack decided to make the plunge and move in together, but it wouldn't just be the two of them. In January of 2021, they would move into a house they were renting in Kansas City with their puppy, Pabu. They spent a little over two years in this home together, and even added another family member with their new puppy, Pumpkin. But their next adventure would be the greatest yet. In May of 2023, Ella and Jack made the decision to leave KC and move to Boston so Ella could pursue a new job opportunity. Being 1500 miles away from home didn't stop their love from growing, as they were able to explore their new home together. From taking the subway in to TD garden so they could cheer against whoever was playing the Celtics, to taking Pabu and Pumpkin down for walks along their nearby beach. The two years they spent in Boston allowed them to grow both as individuals and a couple, meet amazing new friends, and establish themselves in their professional careers. This all culminated on January 18th of 2025, while on a weekend trip to Burlington, Vermont. While scaling Camel's Hump on a snowy, blustery Saturday, Jack got down on one knee and popped the question. The hike back down to their car was much easier, being uplifted by their future together. Now back in Kansas City, Jack and Ella have begun putting down their roots and are looking forward to all that they have ahead of them, particularly the time they will get to spend with with all of their amazing friends and family.
