Our Story

God's Invisible String

Growing up, Jack and Gracie were always tied together, even when they had no clue their other half existed.

Gracie always had to try things first, with Jack following behind her not long after. First there was cross country, with Jack and Gracie competing at the same races throughout the years, never knowing their other half was there all along. Possibly even cheering their other half on while spectating the other races.

Then Gracie went off to college at WKU, where she worked at the gym on campus her sophomore year. That same year, Jack started college. Always working out at the gym on campus... in the afternoons, when Gracie typically worked. By coincidence, their paths did not cross at this time, as God knew they had more growing up to do.

In 2021, Jack and Gracie both worked at the restaurant Freddy's in Bowling Green. Jack working as a cook, and Gracie as a cashier. Although they had worked in the same place for quite some time, Jack had left the job at Freddy's just one month before Gracie started working there.

Although we look back on it, wishing we had met during all these times, God knew we both had to grow and perfectly planned when we would meet each other.

The First Date

Picture of The First Date

March 8th, 2022, Gracie and Jack both happened to be on a very popular dating app... Tinder!

Gracie swiped and found a tall, red-headed, bright-eyed guy who just happened to love being outdoors. Jack also swiped and found a tanned, dark-headed girl, holding a 35lbs, 4 foot long fish (Stripper Bass).

It was an instant match!

On March 10th, Gracie and Jack were set to go on their first date at the Flippin' Axe in Bowling Green, KY. While Jack knocked on many doors, trying to find Gracie's, Gracie almost didn't answer the door! Thankfully for the two of them, she finally decided to.

On the way to Flippin' Axe, Jack let Gracie pick out what songs to play. Her first pick was a a Zach Bryan song, "Let You Down." Right away, Jack had a good feeling about this date. Gracie's next song, found on Jack's personal playlist, "Dust in a Baggie" by Billy String, was her hint of how this date would go.

After playing a few rounds of axe throwing games, talking, and flirting, Jack and Gracie were asked how long they had been married by the couple that was beside them. Little to their knowledge, this was Jack and Gracie's first date.

Once their time was finished at Flippin' Axe, they grabbed a quick snack at Sonic before Jack dropped Gracie off. Two Blue Ras Slushies that were barely sipped on, and a few hours later of talking and singing, they had already planned their second date.

On March 22nd, Jack asked Gracie to be "his girl."

07.06.2024 - The Yes Date

After almost two and a half years of memories, love, and laughter, the day they had both prayed and wished for for so long finally came.

Jack and Gracie had planned to go to a friend's 4th of July party. When Gracie arrived at Jack's place, she could hear their song, "Here Goes Nothing" by Muscadine Bloodline, playing from outside his door. Thinking that Jack was just playing it casually as he usually does, Gracie opened the door to her forever. Hundreds of lit candles glittered the floor, with Jack, down on one knee, in the middle of all the lights, asking the simplest, sweetest question, "Gracie Capshaw, will you marry me?"

Obviously, since you're reading this on our Wedding Website, it was a "Yes."
