Backing way up to senior year of high school, Jack and I met in gym class at Lockport in 2020. It started as just friends from gym class, but quickly evolved into a special relationship when I made the first move. Yes, you heard that right, I made the first move. I actually got rejected the first time I asked him if he wanted to go for ice cream. But the following weekend he gave in and came over to my house. Jack quickly realized that the Drogemuller (Doof) Ranch is very unique. I guess he liked that our way of life was different because we continued to talk, hang out, and get to know each other… until Covid happened. When Jack’s lacrosse season and my softball season were canceled for our senior year, Jack went to Florida with his family. I was stuck in Illinois training for college softball in the fall. Although we were quickly separated, our conversations persisted and became deeper and richer. When Jack came home in May of 2020, we started hanging out again. The summer was like a dream filled with basketball, ice cream, and 4 wheeler rides. That dream disappeared when we left for college in the fall. Jack went to FGCU while I went to North Alabama. We were determined to stay together though! As Jack pursued fishing and I pursued softball, we still made time to talk each day. We had our ups and downs through those two years that lead to great growth for each of us and only made our relationship stronger. In 2022, I transferred to Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale which brought many new and amazing opportunities. For us, it brought more chances to be with each other. Every few weekends we would make the drive to hang out, go on dates, and support each other. Jack made many trips to see me play softball, and I made many trips to go fishing with him or be with his family. During our 4 years of college, Jack’s family moved to Florida and my family moved to Tennessee. After those 4 long years, we decided to stay in Florida together. Our relationship continued to grow and become stronger. We even added a new addition to our little family: Nemopotamus Anakin Drogemuller Sadler (Nemo for short)! Nemo is so loved and adored by us, and we are so happy to be his humans. Our first trip together was to Key West, FL. It was so special and surreal for us, we decided that would be our spot. In June of 2025, we took another trip to the Keys, where Jack planned the perfect time and place for the beginning of our next chapter together. Walking on the beach during sunset, Jack dropped to one knee and asked the big question. With the camera flashing and the waves crashing beside us, I said yes! That moment felt like time stood still. It was exciting and magical and we both knew it was right. What I love most about our relationship is our resilience and devotion to each other. No matter what life has tried to throw our way, God has always helped us fight through it and bounce back. God always had a plan to make us stronger and our relationship unbreakable. Thank you to God, our family, and our friends for all of your love and support over the past few years. I know the Drogemuller family already sees Jack as the 4th son. And I am so grateful that the Sadler family has made me feel like I am already taken in as a Sadler, but soon it will be official! There is so much in store for Jack and I as we venture onto this next chapter of our lives. Come March of 2026, we will be the Sadlers!
