Jack met Mel at a college party in October of 2020. He was walking with his buddy, Billy, and saw this beautiful girl for the first time (in her senior year, which is shocking at a school as small as Benedictine), and immediately thought she was stunning. Jack still remembers all the details of that night. However, Billy called dibs, and as any good friend would, Jack respected the code.


Mel met Jack 3.5 months later when she stopped dating Billy. Jack became more than just a friend of a friend in February 2021 at OMalleys, an irish pub close to school. The rest of that weekend Mel and Jack crossed paths several times. Each enjoying small, fun moments with mutual friends. It was after this weekend Mel realized she had herself a crush on Jack Torline.


Not long after, Jack and Mel went on their first date. Like all great dates, it started with a homemade steak lunch. Petland proved to be an absolute win on Jacks part, petting puppies for free, who doesnt love that!? And finally Union Station gave them plenty of time to stroll around and get to know each other.


From that point on Mel and Jack continued to spend more time together, until they finally made it official. It was only a few months of dating before Mel graduated and long distance started in May of 2021. After another year and a half of Jack being in school and Mel living in Denver, Jack (finally) graduated and moved to Denver to join her.


On July 8th, 2023, Jack got down on one knee, and even though he couldnt get a word out, Mel said YES. And now on June 8th, 2024, Mel and Jack cannot wait for you to join them on their big day!
