Is the reception child-friendly?

Unfortunately, since the venue is a nightclub, anyone under the age of 21 will not be able to attend the reception and will be turned away at the door. If you speak with Jack in advance, he can help coordinate babysitting accommodations.

Will there be a ceremony prior to the reception?

There will not be a public ceremony prior to the reception. Bre and Jack will have a private courthouse ceremony with their parents on October 4th.

What do I do if I need to change my RSVP?

One of the benefits of The Knot's online RSVP is the ability for you to change your RSVPs. While we don't recommend constantly switching your RSVP, if your plans do happen to change, you can go back to our wedding website and edit your response. For easier access to your RSVP and ability to change it, we recommend including your email on the last page of the RSVP invite and checking the box that says you would like to receive notifications.

How early should I leave to get there on time?

Whether you’re driving or taking public transit, we recommend adding 30-45 extra minutes to your GPS’s estimated travel time to account for Chicago traffic, transit wait times, and parking. For example, if your GPS says it will take 1 hour to get to the venue, we recommend leaving at least 1 hour and thirty minutes early to arrive at the venue on time.

Will there be parking at Sidetrack?

There is street parking available, but we recommend using the various lots located around the venue as street parking can be hard to come by in Boystown. Look on SpotHero in advance and reserve a parking spot in the surrounding area. When booked in advance, prices range from $4 to $15. If taking public transportation, the nearest L stop is Belmont (Red and Brown line). The closest bus line to Sidetrack is the 8 (Halsted & Roscoe stop), but the 77, 151, and 156 (Belmont & Halsted stop) on Belmont are also within walking distance.

Will there be an open bar at the reception?

Yes, there will be an open bar. You will have an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages, wine, beer, hard seltzer, and cocktails available to you. Sidetrack is well known for their frozen cocktails; we highly recommend trying one while you are there. Please view the Venue tab on this website to see all available drink options.

What kind of food will be at the reception?

We will be catering Mexican food, which includes tacos, fajitas, rice, beans, flautas, chips and salsa, as well as tamales. Food will be served buffet style, and you will be able to eat at any time. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available. A more detailed menu can be found on the Finer Details tab of this website.

How does the registry work?

We would prefer a cash gift but we also linked our Amazon registry if folks would rather purchase a physical item or gift card. On Amazon, you have the option to group purchase gifts that are over $100. You also have the ability to ship the gift directly to our address if desired.

Do I have to buy a gift for the reception?

You do not have to bring any kind of gift to the reception. We do not want anyone to be financially strained, so we ask our guests not to overextend themselves if they feel that purchasing a gift is not something they can afford. If you do wish to purchase a gift, we have a registry with items at various price points. If you wish to get us something outside of the registry or want to craft a gift/card yourself, you are welcome to do so.

What disability accommodations are provided at Sidetrack?

There are disability accommodations at Sidetrack. The Main bar is fully wheelchair accessible. The Cherry bar, which is where the food will be served, does require going up a few steps to access it. Please ask Jack or Bre if you need any assistance moving around the bar or need us to grab you a plate of food. Please note that because Sidetrack is a nightclub, there will likely be flashing/strobing lights as well as loud music playing. If you know you are easily overstimulated by flashing lights or loud music, you are welcome to step outside whenever needed, leave early, or not attend. Additionally, if you are prone to seizures induced by flashing lights, please prioritize your health first and evaluate whether or not attending would be a safe option for you.

IF YOUR QUESTION IS NOT PRESENT HERE OR YOU NEED MORE CLARIFICATION, PLEASE REACH OUT TO JACK AND HE WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A DETAILED ANSWER.
