David and Jackie met through friends at The Vendue Rooftop Bar in Charleston, SC. After a few subsequent visits and approval from her faithful companion, Finnegan, Jackie decided to keep David around. Their relationship was soon filled with thousands of driving miles, love, adventure, hiking, skydiving, dog fur, and travel. Three and a half years later, David and Jackie decided that they had seen enough of the Interstate 26 corridor. They uprooted their lives to Rock Hill, SC to finally live together and find Finnegan his long promised backyard. In December 2022, they made this promise a reality and bought house together. Winter soon faded, spring blossomed, and summer started to flourish. On June 17th, 2023, David took Jackie and Finnegan back to one of their favorite hiking locations - Linville Gorge in North Carolina. Years earlier, in 2019, David took Jackie and Finnegan to Shortoff Mountain in the south end of the Gorge for a midday hike. This time and on the same route, David proposed to Jackie on the face of the mountain while Finnegan watched and panted in approval in the shade of an alder bush.
