How do I RSVP? When is the RSVP deadline?
After receiving your official invitation, you will be able to let us know your plans right here on our website! Please RSVP by Thursday August 1st 2024. Please feel free to check out our travel page and reserve a hotel room if you know you are coming and would like a room to stay the night At Shawnee!!
What weather should I expect?
Of course, we can’t guarantee anything. Our hope is to have beautiful weather allowing the ceremony & cocktail hour to be outside. If there is hot or bad weather there are outside areas which are covered options for the ceremony & cocktails hour. The reception will be held inside Shawnee Inn’s Worthington Ballroom. Please plan for it to be hot or rainy since we are having our wedding at the end of August.
What is the dress code? What should I wear?
The dress code for our wedding is formal wedding attire. This is not a black tie event however please dress nicely for a wedding. Wear something you’re comfortable in—short or long flowy dresses, suites or whatever brings you joy. We ask that the ladies please stay away from long wine/burgundy color dresses if possible. Also since our ceremony could take place outside in the grass, we recommend wedges/block heels or flats so you don't sink in the grass. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
Do you have a hotel block for guests? Accommodations?
We are so thankful you are making the trip to celebrate with us! We have a hotel block at Shawnee Inn which is our first recommendation. Another nearby accommodation will be listed on the travel page of our website as well but please note this option might be a few minutes drive from Shawnee Inn! Please feel free to reserve a room as soon as you can if you know you are joining us & would like a place to stay! If there are any of the room blocks left by July 29th, they will be released to the public
Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue(s)?
We are not providing any formal transportation for the events, but our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are taking place all at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. There is a large parking lot to the left of the hotel & behind the brewery when you arrive on site.
Is there an open bar? Alcohol/Smoking Policies?
Yes, of course! This being said, we do not want anyone drinking and driving. This is of course where you can please visit our travel page where you will find accommodations set up for all guests Thursday & Friday Night! Please also be aware Shawnee Inn does have rules & regulations when it comes to bringing outside alcohol/coolers around the grounds. You can bring your own alcohol/coolers to “pregame” or drink after the reception but this is only permitted in your hotel room. If you are outside your room, please use a reusable water bottle/cup to be discreet about your drinking. We will have an open bar so NO outside alcohol will be allowed at the cocktail hour/reception. Also, please be aware, there is a smoking policy for our venue which states smoking is not permitted inside or within 20 feet of any building.
I have dietary restrictions, what’s the best way to communicate that with you?
We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day. You will be able to let us know any dietary restrictions & meal of choice when you RSVP on our website.
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to limited venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless it is specifically indicated on your invitation envelope . For example, your envelope will list “(Your name) & a guest name”. For Families, “The (your last name) & Family”. When you go to RSVP, you will be able to see the exact number of guests you can RSVP for after the official invitations are sent out.
What should I expect after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the immediate family of the couple & bridal party will be taking pictures for about a half hour. Drinks will be served immediately after the ceremony at "Extended Cocktail Hour" and Food will be delayed 30 minutes, so "The Cocktail Hour" will begin at 5:00pm. The reception to follow at 6:00pm. Please use the extra half hour to either check into your hotel room if not done already or relax and have a drink!
Can I bring my kids? Will there be a babysitter?
Since we have huge extended families, we’ve chosen to limit our guest list to thirteen-year-olds and over, and we hope you understand. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
Shawnee Inn prides themselves as a "kid friendly environment" please feel free to arranges for a babysitter if you would like to make a weekend stay out of this beautiful resort!
