We met around 2011 when both of us were in the sixth grade. Jake had gone to another school for 8th grade and Jackie moved to another state in 8th grade. Jackie ended up moving back to Florida in June of 2016 with no intention of finding a boyfriend, little did she know the boyfriend she stumbled upon would become her soon to be husband. So, about 4-5 years after we met, we were both about to start junior year of high school and started to talk. We went back and forth for a while and I realized that we started to like each other. We were both scared and never thought this spark would turn into a flame. Jackie was fearful she would never be good enough or anyone could like her the way that she started to like Jake. They knew all the same people, so it all felt right. It felt like they knew each other forever. They were immediately comfortable and best friends. Jake would spend hours at Jackie’s house until about 2-3 in the morning just talking and then he would go back to his friend’s house to stay the night. It was about five months into dating when Jake went to Nicaragua with family. They knew then they loved each other and didn’t want to be apart. We started dating on January 1st of our junior year and have been together since. Jake and Jackie have grown up together and seen the best and worst parts of each other. They have shaped each into who they are today. They give each other strength, confidence, and unconditional love. They never even fathomed that the sweet high school romance dating back to 2016 would end up with a marriage. They can’t wait for this next chapter of life full of even more love than they started with.
