Our Story

How We Met

The story of Rob and Jackie began in the fall of 2018, a season of big transitions and new beginnings. Jackie had just graduated and moved down to start her very first job as a Physical Therapist—a milestone that brought her to the same building where Rob had already established himself over several years.
While they worked in different offices, the walls between them were thin thanks to a shared circle of friends. Rob was already close with many of Jackie’s new coworkers, and it wasn’t long before their paths started to cross during post-work hangouts and group gatherings. What started as casual group hangouts gradually shifted into something more personal. The rhythm of their friendship accelerated as they transitioned from "hanging out with the group" to spending time just the two of them.As their relationship deepened, it became clear that they weren't just a match in their downtime, but in their lifestyles too. Whether they were hitting the trails for a hike or pushing each other during a workout, they found a shared energy in staying active together.
However, the true strength of their bond was forged in the years that followed. Life brought a whirlwind of highs and lows, and Rob and Jackie became each other's constant through it all. They were there for each other navigating the uncertainty of COVID-19. Supporting one another through job changes and career growth. Celebrated the joy of births and weddings in each other's families. And they have leaned on each other during the quiet sadness of funerals.
From those first days in the office building in 2018 to the present day, they have grown from neighbors in a hallway to partners in life, proving that the best stories often start with a simple "hello" at work.

The Proposal - As Told By Jackie

Picture of The Proposal - As Told By Jackie

The day started off very normal I had no clue what was going to happen. My parents rented a cabin in Hocking Hills for the weekend for us all to spend some time together. It was a crisp fall morning and after some breakfast we got ready to spend the day hitting some trails. One of my brothers suggested we head to Rose Lake, the leaves had changed and it has a nice overlook, and it is not too strenuous getting there. Once we made our way to the lake we spent some time looking at the trees, the water and just hanging out. (At this point no one besides Rob and my parents knew what was going to happen) Mom said she wanted some photos of us all so she took some of my brother and sister-in-law, and got one of all the guys and including my parents dog. Next up it was Rob and I. We stood with the lake on our backs and smiled for a few pictures. Once we're done I go the move out of the way and next thing I see is Rob on his knee. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think in my case it might be more than a thousand. I was so surprised and overwhelmed that lots of happy tears were shed. Rob proposed using my grandmother's engagement ring/ wedding band, making the moment even more special. I couldn't have wished for a more perfect moment. Also shout out to my sister-in-law Dani for the amazing pictures!!
