Troy and Jackie started dating in October 2015, while Jackie was at the University of Kansas and Troy was working in Kansas City. They met at Loose Park after swiping right, to a perfect match. They quickly bonded over their mutual love of scary movies and animals. They have accomplished a lot in the past 5 years, such as Jackie obtaining her Master’s of Social Work and Clinical licensure and Troy obtaining his Associates in Science. As well as, moving to a new city in a global pandemic and then eloping in Rocky Mountain National Park. They have two amazing pups, Dimitri and Fiona, and currently reside in Prairie Village, KS where Troy is studying Construction Management and and Jackie is practicing as a Mental Health/Trauma Therapist.

Troy proposed to Jackie in March 2019 in Portland, Oregon, which was a trip they had been dreaming of taking, since watching Portlandia! First, they went to a local brunch spot and had homemade biscuit and egg sandwiches, then they drove to the beautiful Multnomah Falls. They began the hike up towards the famous bridge, and once they arrived Troy got down on one knee and proposed overlooking the spectacular falls. They went on to finish a nice 5 mile hike, which turned out to be fairly treacherous due to recent snow fall. They missed a sign, but found their way back after hiking closer to 12 miles. It was an unexpected test to their future as partners. That night they went out for a well deserved dinner to celebrate their engagement, with a panoramic view of the city. It was a perfect day full of love, adventure, and teamwork that will lead to a long and joyous partnership.
