Our Wedding

Jackie and Neel are excited for you to join them at their wedding on their 10th anniversary, September 30, 2023. Jackie and Neel became friends as sophomores in high school, but they didn't get together until their junior year, on April 15, 2013. That evening, Jackie picked up Neel and they went to the movies to see 42. After, Neel asked if that could be their first date, to which Jackie replied, "sure," or something similarly emotional. They went through the rest of high school together, but after graduation, they were off to colleges in different states. They didn't want to do a long-distance relationship and risk ending on bad terms, so they decided to go their separate ways. Obviously, that breakup thing didn't last. Nearly six months later they got back together, which is why they celebrate their anniversary on September 30 now, to account for those missing five-and-a-half months. Since then, they've been through college, graduate school, quarantine, the growing pains of Jackie's freelance business, and Neel's medical school together. Somewhere in there, they got engaged, too. Taking advantage of Jackie's absence on Christmas Eve of 2021, Neel trained the more trainable of their two cats to bring her the engagement ring when she returned Christmas night. They'd only been together for eight years at that point but YOLO.

Rhiannon and Jackie met in sixth grade, sharing the same homeroom and thus the same questionable "growing pains" of a brand new school. Rhiannon moved away after year two of their friendship, with the next 14 years (and counting) spent living 1.5-8 hours apart. Although sometimes she offends her patients by asking invasive personal questions, such as asking whether they floss regularly, Rhiannon is a celebrated dental hygienist, the hygienist who will ruin all other hygienists for you.

Retired Resident Assistant and winner of "Most Polite" RA superlative, Amelia met Jackie at BU at the start of second semester senior year. It was then that Amelia usurped the former RA on the floor below Jackie's. But she could not wrest control of the seventh floor from Jackie, and the two came to an understanding, forming a grudging friendship over a bowl of cereal. Despite her unquenchable thirst for power, Amelia is consistently described as "the nicest person ever," and has a passion for helping others and higher education. She is also a delightful road trip companion.

(Pictured to left of girl with haircut resembling a mushroom.) Lauren, a cousin of Jackie's, was one of her earliest friends too. Being the sole girl in her immediate family and for several years the only female grandchild, Jackie counted Lauren as a welcome breath of fresh air through the smog of testosterone. Though Lauren always lived far away, the two were close pen pals and called frequently, sharing in major milestones such as Lauren's role in a Sara Lee Bread® commercial competition submission.

World traveler with an appreciation for arts and culture, Chantalle had the honor of becoming the first cousin Jackie babysat, helping her break into babysitting outside of her siblings. Jackie returned the favor by changing Chantalle's life when she introduced her to the fact that if you soften ice cream and stir it up, you basically have a milkshake. According to the emojis in her Instagram bio, Chantalle has many interests, including soccer, summer, music, ladybugs, and possibly soup. She is now a fashion icon and soon-to-be college graduate.

Maddie is another cousin of Jackie's and a past winner of the "Best Child to Babysit" award for five years in a row. In pursuit of her sixth consecutive award, underdog, and her younger brother, Markens, came out on top with a Cinderella-Story upset. Maddie was devastated, one might imagine. Now she is past her babysitable prime. She has since pursued other interests outside of being babysat by Jackie and is an avid soccer player.

A gentle soul and an engineer (as seen in WBUR feature, "A Mini Mississippi In Mass. May Help Save New Orleans From Rising Seas," which described him as "...doing his best, anyways."), Garret is a close friend of the couple and Neel's longtime best friend. Neel and Garret came together in high school as varsity baseball teammates and finished their high school careers with the "Best Bromance" superlative. Garret is still into baseball and a loyal patron of the Worcester Woo Sox.

Eric is a frequent house guest of Neel's—in the form of a disembodied voice. Introduced (in person) by Garret, their friendship took off virtually over video games. Showcasing their knack for being ahead of the trends, this was well before "unprecedented times" necessitated virtual friendships.

Yet another frequent houseguest in the form of a disembodied voice (Neel's friend via Garret) Tom and Neel also connected over video games. Throughout their long-distance friendship, they have kept the spark alive through their shared hobby. 

Two-time host and NYC concierge to the groom and bride, Dave and Neel met via Billy (see below). Though the two are so incredibly different (Dave never wears shorts and Neel almost exclusively does so), they somehow manage to find common ground, like a shared love of sushi and significant others who were high school volleyball teammates. When asked to share his hopes and dreams, Dave said, "My only dream is to attend the Neel & Jackie wedding. Also, I love sushi."

Neel does not remember exactly how or when Zach came into his life, but he knows it was at some point during high school, likely coinciding with the beginning of his friendship with co-groomsmen Billy and Dave. Zach always puts a smile on Neel's face, and Jackie knows him as for sure probably the least-annoying guy on the boy's high school basketball team during her tenure on the girl's team.

Regularly described (by Neel) as "just a good kid," Billy (who is actually no longer legally considered a kid) and Neel met through high school baseball. Billy, like both Neel and Garret, is a fellow Virgo. Strong and resourceful (classic Virgo, according to internet horoscopes), Billy has been tirelessly working to overcome formidable obstacles, such as getting the necessary time off, to attend the wedding.

We secured a group rate for our guests who wish to stay at the Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree, eight minutes from our venue. There will be a shuttle to transport guests from the hotel to the wedding and back.

For our guests flying in, you can take the Logan Express from the airport to Braintree. From there, its just a five-minute Uber/Lyft ride to the Hampton Inn hotel. Or you can call the Hampton Inn between 7:00 am and 10:30 pm and request complimentary shuttle service. If driving from the airport, please note that the main route from Logan airport to Boston, Sumner Tunnel, will be closed and there may be traffic. We recommend taking public transit or the Logan Express.
