Our Wedding

Our story reflects the Lord’s steady and quiet faithfulness. Olivia committed to Tennessee Wesleyan University for golf during her junior year of high school. At the time, her focus was entirely on school and athletics, and dating wasn’t on her radar. Still, there were small hints along the way. During her campus visit, her coach casually remarked, “Just wait until you meet a guy with true southern charm.” Meanwhile, Jackson was preparing for a different future, planning to enlist in the military. A phone call from an old teammate shifted those plans and ultimately led him to join the lacrosse team at TWU. During the first week of freshman year, Olivia’s roommate invited her to lunch with a few classmates. Reluctant but not wanting to eat alone, Olivia agreed. When they joined the group, she was introduced to Jackson. He confidently smiled and said, “I’m Jackson, it’s a pleasure.” In that simple moment, Olivia understood exactly what her coach had meant. They became friends quickly, spending most of their time together with the same group of people. For a while, they kept their feelings to themselves. Midway through the semester, Jackson finally shared how he felt, and soon after, they started dating. Over the next four and a half years, their relationship grew through both proximity and distance. Long stretches of being 15 hours apart during school breaks taught them patience, trust, and the value of showing up for each other in consistent ways. Through it all, they’ve seen God’s hand quietly at work, aligning their paths and allowing things to fall into place in ways they never could have planned. Whether on the lacrosse field or the golf course, they supported one another fully, celebrating wins and walking through setbacks together. On April 26th, Jackson asked Olivia to marry him, surrounded by family and friends who had traveled from Canada to surprise her. He read Ecclesiastes 4:9–10, Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. As they begin this next chapter, they do so with gratitude for each other, for the people who have supported them, and for the steady guidance of the Lord in bringing their paths together.
