Like many modern love stories, we met in September 2020, right after the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Jaclyn had just moved down to Georgia, and Scott was eager to introduce her to all the (outdoor) Georgia landmarks. And eventually, Jaclyn was happy to show him her beautiful home state of Michigan. (Which we are so excited to share with all of you at our wedding!!)

We met when we were both completing our Masters degrees at the University of Georgia. As Jaclyn had a total of 2 friends in Georgia, she was happy to accept the friendship from a very handsome local. Jaclyn was so excited to be going on dates with Scott, she even asked him to meet her Mom and older sister before officially becoming boyfriend/girlfriend. Luckily, Scott made it official and charmed her family.

After numerous flights home, Jaclyn brought Scott back to Michigan for Christmas 2021. Scott loved visiting Michigan and having the chance to break out his brand new winter parka.

We were so proud to be part of each other's lives for monumental occasions such as graduation from our degrees, the beginning of both our careers, family weddings, passing our professional licensure exams, and even Jaclyn becoming an aunt for the first time (and Scott becoming a Dunkle!). *Dunkle = unmarried pseudo-uncle

After two and a half years together, Scott asked Jaclyn to marry him on a beautiful July day at a local Michigan winery. Unbeknownst to Jaclyn, he had her entire family and godparents waiting for them at a neighboring winery, ready to pop the champagne and celebrate. Jaclyn's brother-in-laws gave a wonderful toast and started off our engagement year on a very sweet note.

We of course can't tell our story without thanking each and every one of you for the monumental impact you have had on our growth over the years as individuals and now as future spouses. We truly are grateful for all the wonderful mentors, supporters, family members, and so-close-we-feel-like-family friends who have been there for us for each big moment in our relationship. We can't wait to celebrate our big day with all of you by our side.
