Our Wedding

January 4th, 2019 — We met in SoHo, NY at Culinary School, studying for our wine degrees. It happened to be an extremely random meeting as Jaclyn almost took the course months earlier!! Our class had 7 people in it, and we just so happened to sit next to one another. From here on out, Jason showed Jaclyn every spot he knew in NYC and we bonded over eating and drinking good wine!

Where it all began!

May 5th, 2019 — We thought it would be a fun idea to travel together for two weeks to France! The trip started in Paris and the plan was to drive to the South of France and return home. Two weeks had gone by, and we found ourselves in Northern Italy where we called our employers and quit our jobs! We spent the next 2 months driving around the rest of France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Amsterdam, Germany and finally (when funds got low) arrived where Jaclyn’s family resides… In Alsace, France. Jason met the entire French family during this trip; both in the South of France and Alsace!

And to Europe we went!

August 2019 — Immediately after arriving back in the States, we moved in together… Well, more like into Jason’s mother’s Upper West Side apartment (thanks Lizette!!!) until we found our own place in Uptown Manhattan. Life sped up from here, new jobs were acquired, and we started our journey working together in Hospitality. 

Home we came!

June 2020 — During the Pandemic, as most unemployed people did, we got fur babies. Koa (left) and Kobe (right); named after one of Jason’s favorite basketball players, Kobe Bryant. These two have been on various adventures with us, including the drive out West to CA!!

And then there were four…

September 2020 — We had been out of work for quite some time and decided it was a good opportunity to take a job outside of the city! So we moved to the East end of Long Island, where many memories were made with our friends and loved ones who visited (you know who you are!)

May 2021 — California, here we come! This photo was taken the day we visited for the first time, and decided that Mendocino would be our home. Two weeks later, we sold what we could, stored the rest of it in Pam and Dave’s basement, and took only what we could fit in our car!

January 18, 2023 — A lot of life happened in between moving to CA and Jason popping the question! Trips to Mexico, LA, London and NY… Friends and family visiting us for the first time out West… Our best friends' weddings &lt;3Our trip to the Dolomites was magic. As we came back from our sunset hike Jason asked Jaclyn to marry him; the answer obviously an easy YES!

The best day ever… 

January 2025 — Yes, we know, we had a long engagement, but it was wonderful! We had time to properly plan our engagement party with immediate family, our wedding in Italy and most importantly - we had time to enjoy each other as fiancées &lt;3We legally got married on January 13th, 2025 in City Hall with our parents to witness. We are so excited to see you all in Italy as Mr. &amp; Mrs. Chin!

We cannot wait to celebrate with you all!

Our Story

We invite all of our guests, whether staying on the property or not, to enjoy the Borgo during the duration of your time in Italy! We have the whole place to ourselves for the entire week, from May 16th to the 23rd. A breakfast buffet will be available to enjoy daily for 20€ per person, at the discretion of each of our guests! Menu and more info listed in Q+A!

Friday - Day One!

The first day at the Borgo - We are treating this as a relaxing day. If you plan on coming to the property, please check in any time after 12 PM. For those of you checking in, we are planning on going to Cortona for dinner (a nearby town) around 7:30-8:00 PM. Casual!

Saturday - Movie Night

A day spent as you wish! B&amp;G along with their wedding party plan to pool, tennis and chill. Guests can use this day to explore nearby towns, take a pasta class or enjoy the property! If you’re planning on exploring, join us back at the Borgo around 6 in the evening for a pizza and movie night! The vibe ~ comfy attire and pizza! Get your PJ’s ready!

Sunday -  A Day to Explore

The B&G are celebrating their “bachelor/bachelorette” with their wedding parties off-site! Please feel free to plan an adventure for this day or enjoy the property and hangout! Jaclyn’s party is to leave the property at 10:00 AM and arrive back by 2:00 AM! Jason’s party is to leave by 9:30-10:00 AM and won’t be back until the following day around noon!

Monday - Our Welcome Dinner!

Vibes during the day — Pool party and BBQ, starting at 2:00 in the afternoon! Our Welcome Party will be in the evening, starting at 6:30 PM. This will take place on the grounds. Lots of food, wine and dancing!

Tuesday - The Wedding Day!

8:30-10:30 AM - Breakfast served onsite 12:00-4:00 PM - J&J to get ready with bridal parties!   4:00 PM - Arrive on property, dressed and ready to go! Small bites and a welcome beverage will be provided.     4:30 PM - Ceremony begins!    5:15 PM - Cocktail reception starts; more food and beverages; mingling and relaxing. Photos with B&G for all of you!    7:30 PM - Sit down dinner starts, as sunset is near the end of the hour!     10:00 PM ~ Time to party!! 🤍

Wednesday - Recovery / Paintball 

Brunch on the property starting at 11:00 in the morning and lots of relaxing! In the late afternoon we plan to play paintball nearby. If you're feeling up for some friendly competition, join us! Dinner will be on the property later that evening — Pig roast! 45€ per person. This will begin at 7:30 PM!

Thursday -  Dinner in Perugia

For those of you still with us, we plan to enjoy the day hang around the property during the morning and early afternoon. We'd love to head into Perugia, about a 45 minute drive South, for dinner! TBD on location.

Friday -  Check Out Day

Check out of the Borgo is at noon! Breakfast and big squeezes before we all part ways!

Itinerary for the Week!

A really beautiful spot to enjoy lunch or dinner 15 minutes from Bastia Creti. We recommend making a reservation in advance if you can! Head to the drop down tab on their website below and click on “eat & drink” to see their two restaurants!

Reschio Hotel

A lovely hotel that has a restaurant and bar. About a 20 minute drive North from the Borgo! A wonderful place to sit outdoors and enjoy a refreshment. Reservations encouraged. 

Vocabolo Moscatelli Hotel

Cortona is one of the many charming cities to visit in Tuscany! About a 45 minute drive North from Bastia Creti. Perched on a hilltop, Cortona still retains parts of its Etruscan heritage which dates back to the 4th century BC. Where to eat — Osteria del Teatro, La Bucaccia - Da Romano and Ristorante La Loggetta. There are LOTS of options for food here! Where to drink — Il Solco What to see — Hermitage Le Celle, Fortress of Girifalco

Visiting Cortona

The “largest” city about 45 minutes South of Bastia Creti. Certainly a lot of history, eating and sightseeing in this city! We will be having dinner here on Thursday night with those of you staying until Friday! Where to eat — La Romantica Pizzeria (Borgo XX), Dal Mi Cocco, Osteria a Priori, Locanda del Morlacchi. After dinner head over to a Gelateria such as Mastro Cianuri! What to see — The view from Porta Sole

Visiting Perugia

A little over an hour through the hillside of Tuscany, Montepulciano offers gorgeous views of the land below and stunning architecture. Jason and I visited this town multiple times during our trip to Italy. Where to eat — Le Logge del Vignola, Lupaia (just outside of the city), Osteria del Conte, La Schiaccia Dellopio, La Grotta, Rossio Rubino Trattoria, Lieviti Pizzaria Where to drink — Romantico Bar (sunset here is amazing), E Lucevan le Stelle - Wine Bar Bistro What to see — Terme San Filipino hot spring

Visiting Montepulciano

One hour and 45 minutes from Bastia Creti. A smaller town than Montepulciano but just as quaint. There are multiple options when flying into Italy to join us at Bastia Creti. Listed below, you will find information on all airports that are available for your choosing!

Getting to the Borgo

Information — - Renting a car through Hertz, Enterprise or any reputable company is recommended.*You DO NOT need an international driving permit to drive a car in Italy, just a valid drivers license!*A car service can be arranged from the airport to the venue/your accommodations, although this is a pricey option ranging from 300-600 euros for a one way trip.If you are driving please note that Italy is notorious for speed traps; drive the speed limit to avoid tickets by mail!Bastia Creti can assist with taxi services to nearby locations upon request!

*Regional Airport* — (FLR) $$ Firenze (Florence) Airport; about 2-2.5 hours by car to the Borgo. Car rental services available; certainly the quickest form of transportation! By train; approximately 4 hour trip. When you arrive, a 3-5 minute walk is required to access the tramway that will take you into the city center where the speed train is located. Walk 8-10 minutes to get to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella station to ride three stops to Terontola Cortona station (approx. 58 mins). Transfer to Terontola Cortona and ride nine stops (1 hour) to Perugia Ponte S. Giovanni station. Walk one minute to bus station (could be up to a 30 minute wait for bus to arrive) and get on P.S Giovanni Staz. towards S. Francesco Aeroporto; a 15 minute bus ride. This will take you Perugia Airport (PEG) listed where you can rent a car or call a cab. - Find these directions by typing into Google Maps; Amerigo Vespucci Airport to San Fransesco Aeroporto and toggle “train.”

*International Airport* — (FCO) $$ Rome Airport; By car, 2 hours and 50 minutes to Bastia Creti. Car rentals available on-site. By train; not recommended. 8 hour journey with a couple of transfers.

Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport

*International Airport* — (MXP) $$ Milan Airport; about a 5 and a half hour car ride to the Borgo. The longest/most adventurous journey but for some might be a fun opportunity to explore Northern and Central Italy! A speed train can be taken from Milan to Florence which takes about 2 hours. Car rentals available as well. A few possibilities depending on the journey you’d like to take!
