Our Story

Jacob's Perspective

You’ve heard the story before. Maybe even have one like it of your own. But this one is mine. And all my other adventures don’t hold a candle to what’s to come…” But the story doesn’t start here…

“It was an October evening, A ping of notifications projected from my phone. When I looked, I noticed several of my instagram pictures had been liked by a very beautiful girl. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t catch me off guard. I even messaged some friends telling them what was going on! I found myself scrolling through her posts wondering if she had an interest in something other than my shared photos. Could she possibly be interested in more?

After spending some time wrestling with it all I decided to pull the trigger. My profound, impressive attempt at connection was the following dm: “Hey”. Much to my surprise and excitement, she responded.

The instagram DM’s would soon be filled with stories, deep conversations and dreams. Over time, we shared enough of ourselves in those messages to want to take the next step.

After several days, a thousand words, and many sleepless nights I finally gained the confidence and courage to do it. I asked her on a date.

She said yes. Saying that now still excites me. Listen, it can be difficult putting yourself out there. Men are expected to initiate these things and the potential pain of rejection can be a convincing deterrent. I’ve had my share of relationships I regret and that’s not a place I want to live. But after talking to her, getting a peek inside of who she was, the potential of what could be was enough to push me off the edge.

You’ve heard the cliché love at first sight. The notion of meeting someone and instantly knowing is so absurd. However, after our first date… I knew she’d be the one. The conversation, the looks, the energy, all of it. It just felt right.

A couple weeks later we ventured off to white rock mountain… That place is such a majestic and mysterious spot. It just seemed like the right environment to ask her. It may seem insignificant but to me, this mattered. Once we reached the peak, I asked her to be my girlfriend.

Spoiler alert… she said yes.”

So a new chapter in our relationship begins, as we become more adventurous in ourselves, I decide to take her on her first camping trip…

Soon that first camping trip would then turn into more camping trips and more camping trips!

And Now that I think she's hooked on…it’s time..I want to spend the rest of my life with her…

So we packed up camp and made our way to fuzzy butt falls…

This place is so majestic and chapel like that it was the perfect place for me to ask her… the nerve racking question

And this…is how it went…

Savannahs Perspective

It was a chance encounter, a single word (more like a single text) that changed everything. I had prayed for someone like Jacob to come into my life, and that prayer was answered. From a single worded text to our first date, where he welded me flowers, to our first camping trip, I knew that he was someone special, that he was the one. He was creative and thoughtful and introduced me to overlanding, a passion that would take us on many adventures together like when he had asked me to be his girlfriend. He helped me become more extroverted, bringing out the best in me. We shared many incredible experiences together, including our proposal at Fuzzybutt Falls. I couldn't be happier, knowing that I had found the man of my dreams. Our story is one of love and adventure, and I couldn't wait to see what the future held. So when he asked my dad and came to me I said yes!
