Jourdan and Jacob met at the University of South Florida in the Biomedical Engineering program, which is just a fancy way of saying they bonded over chipotle meals in the library, mild stress, and mutual confusion about circuit boards. From the start, they were inseparable—partners in labs, laughter, and late-night philosophical debates about whether it was worth it to pull an all-nighter or just fail with dignity. For years, they swore it was just friendship. You know, the kind of friendship where you spend every free moment together, take detours across the state just to “visit family,” and get weirdly upset when the other cancels plans. During their senior year winter break, Jacob almost made the classic rom-com airport dash to Jacksonville—until a Covid exposure got in the way. Both were heartbroken. Their moms noticed. It was a whole thing. When winter break ended, Jourdan came back to Tampa late one night, and Jacob—true to his dramatic flair—stayed up just to “help carry her bags” up three flights of stairs. There was no elevator, no actual luggage, and no real reason besides the obvious: he missed her. After hours of catching up, Jacob finally blurted out the big secret: he had feelings for her. Then, like any man untrained in post-confession etiquette, he fled the scene. By morning, Jourdan called him back. They spent the entire day talking, as usual, and finally decided to stop denying what everyone else had known for years. Since then, they’ve been laughing, loving, and thriving—turning their secret spark into a full-blown electrical fire. From lab partners to life partners, their love story is part slow burn, part plot twist, and 100% worth the wait.

JAX is the closest airport to the venue/area. It’s a small airport and easy to navigate. The ceremony and reception are at the same address and about an hour south of the airport. Venue address is: 235 Marywood Dr, Saint Johns, FL 32259, United States

Travel

Unless you’re from Kansas City this is the best BBQ you’ll find. They close when they run out of food but you can call ahead and order or ask what the status is for dine ins. I recommend the lean brisket and ribs. 

Woodpeckers Backyard BBQ

If you have a hammock, this is a great place to relax and watch the sunset. Also great for a picnic lunch or just passing time walking through trails of trees. There are several other parks on the way to this one if you want to check them out!

Riverfront Park

This coffee shop is awesome! They usually give you your drink for free if you sign up for their rewards. The coffee is good and the vibes are better. There is a little shopping center here too, so you can walk around and check out the area.

Brass Tacks Coffee

The best breakfast spot! They close early so check website hours. They have all sorts of loaded biscuit options, I recommend the sticky maple. This is also in the shopping center you can walk around and explore.

You can get lost down these nature trails. Don’t be late for the wedding ;) Apparently there’s a kayak launch too if you wanted to get some rentals. Not sure if they can provide those, call ahead.

Jullington Creek Preserve

Check out the beach if you are able, it’s about an hour away from the venue but could be worth the hike. Lots of sharks teeth at this beach too!
