Our Wedding

Jacob and I met at Fenwick when he was a Junior and I was a Freshman. We met in person at a friend's house, and began chatting on AIM frequently after. Jacob came up with the idea that we find each other Homecoming dates because we were both in search of dates at the time. After multiple suggestions and 'no, not them because...' on the list of possible dates, I finally got a message from him asking me to the dance (which he says was the plan all along..) After this Homecoming date and dating a few months, we said our good-byes and went our separate ways for a couple years as Jacob was heading to college at UK. Two years later, after graduating from Fenwick myself, and graduation parties in full swing, Jake and I found ourselves at the same party, and I realized how much I had missed him in my life. We spent the rest of the summer together, but decided again, it was not great timing to be together with me leaving for Lexington soon. Thanksgiving time rolled around however, and we both had clearly began missing each other because we made plans to spend Thanksgiving with his family in Lexington. After this, the rest was history. We began dating in January and 5 years later at a friends lake house, he asked me to marry him! We have never been happier that we found each other in an unexpected time and way.

Our Love Story (Michelle)

Michelle and I met back at Fenwick High. An unconventional high school sweetheart story that was followed up by a long distance relationship while she attended Transylvania in Lexington and I went to UC. We now enjoy our days in the Cincinnati area with many of our friends and family who help share in the excitement of our engagement. We always laugh about our first encounters of chatting on AIM. She was supposed to be helping me find a date to the Homecoming dance, but in reality I was trying to get to know her. After embarrassingly asking her to homecoming over instant messenger she said yes and we started dating. I knew I wanted to marry Michelle when one day she made me chocolate chip pancakes. I never liked pancakes, but these weren't pancakes. They were CHOCOLATE CHIP pancakes. I finally made that thought a reality when we visited a friends lake house with a group of our closest friends. None of them had a clue it was going to happen, so the look of joy was pure happiness on everyone's faces was amazing. Michelle drew a tear and said "Are you serious?" Followed by a big 'YES!' Michelle's brother.  Jacob and Michelle enjoy going to his comedy shows during the week, and summer vacations are more exciting because of him!
