Jacob and Mychaela met in January of 2020 after matching on both Tinder and Bumble. They started getting serious in February and then COVID hit in March. After the world shut down, they decided they should continue seeing each other. While only being able to video chat, they spent their time playing board games and reading. Well, Jacob was reading. He read Mychaela the entire Harry Potter series before bed every night while video chatting. On April 1st, 2020, when they were finally able to see each other again, Jacob asked Mychaela to be his girlfriend after meeting her grandparents for the first time.

They spent their time travelling around the province, bonding over their love for photography. When they weren't doing that, they were watching their favourite movies together. Such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc. Or hiking with the dogs.

Jacob quickly bonded with Mychaela's dogs and cats and started calling them his own. They share 5 dogs, 3 cats, and a tarantula, not including the three cats and two rabbits that crossed over the rainbow bridge.

They moved in together in November of 2021, sharing a tiny bedroom and saving up their money for a house.

In June of 2022, while on a trip to Kelowna for a friends wedding, Jacob proposed to Mychaela with her dream ring. Ask Jacob the story of how he proposed, it's a funny one!

In August of 2023, Jacob and Mychaela bought their first home. A beautiful character home near College Avenue. They have enjoyed making the house their own with all of their antiques and collectables and hope to someday add a baby to the mix.

They cannot wait to celebrate their big day with all of their family and friends and finally begin their marriage!
