Our Story

Jacob and I met in February 2020, during my senior year at Ball State. We had our first date at Savages in downtown Muncie. By the time we finished eating, we both decided that we didn't want the date to end. So, we walked around downtown Muncie in the freezing cold and ended up walking around Wal-Mart. Such a Midwest type of date! We spent almost every day together in the following weeks. Then, in March of 2020, the world shut down. Ball State shut down their campus, and we were forced to stay home. We decided then that we wanted our relationship to continue, and we would find a way to see each other.

Eventually, everyone started getting used to this "new normal", so we felt comfortable spending time together in person again. I graduated college and moved back home to Indianapolis with my parents. Jake started traveling to Indianapolis regularly to see me. Within the next year, we decided to move in together. We signed the lease on our first apartment together, and lived there for 1 year. We then lived in our second apartment for 2 more years.

By the end of our lease, we were tired of renting. We moved back to Muncie and focused on saving money for our first home. In June of 2024, we went to Las Vegas with Jake's family. On our second day there, we were walking to dinner, when Jake wanted to stop and take pictures of fountains at the Bellagio. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Right after this, he gave me another surprise! He had invited my parents to be there as well. He spent months planning this moment, and it was everything I ever dreamed of.

In the following months, we started truly planning our future together. Most recently, we bought our first home. Sometimes it's hard to believe that we've spent more than 5 years together, because time has really flown. We've grown immensely as individuals and our relationship has continued to grow stronger with every day. Life has just continued to get better and we're ready to settle into marital bliss soon.
