Our story began in March 2018, when we connected on Bumble. Jacob didn’t waste any time and asked me out for a drink at Loyal Legion. The moment Jacob walked into the bar, my first thought was, “Wow, this guy has incredible hair.” We ended up talking for four hours over two beers—and a migraine I pretended not to have. Jacob left thinking he had finally found someone who could keep up with him, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something truly special about him, even beyond his thick locks. I had to know more.

It didn’t take long for us to discover our mutual love of fine food. Casual bar dates quickly evolved into tasting menus and home-cooked meals...Jacob's plan was falling into place.

Then came 2020. While the world was turning upside down, we found the perfect excuse to take a big step: moving in together. It was the best decision we could have made. From adopting and raising our mischievous puppy to navigating the ups and downs of long-distance, and eventually buying our first home together in Portland, we’ve built a life full of laughter, adventure, and love. In each other, we’ve found not just a partner, but a best friend—someone we can’t imagine life without.

In November 2024, Jacob planned a romantic proposal during our first international trip to Belize. But, as life sometimes does, a tropical storm threw a curveball, and snorkels were traded for snowshoes. Undeterred, Jacob got down on one knee at Trillium Lake in the Oregon mountains, surrounded by snow, and asked me to marry him. It was absolutely perfect, even as our dog protested being momentarily upstaged.

After six incredible years of falling in love and building a life together, we are thrilled to make it official this summer. We can’t wait to exchange vows and celebrate with all of our closest friends and loved ones. See you there!
