Jacob and Mackenzie’s story begins in the small town of Oxford, Ohio, at Miami University. It was October of their senior year when Jacob got a stray invite—from one of Mackenzie’s friends—to a party. He showed up in his finest statement piece: a giant fur coat. It turned out to be the perfect icebreaker, sparking a great conversation that night… and then absolutely no contact for several months. (Apparently, Jacob believed in playing the very long game.)

Fast forward to March, and they had yet to have a second conversation—until a chance run-in one Friday afternoon changed everything. They ended up talking for hours, and by the end of the night, Jacob had secured a spot as Mackenzie’s date to an upcoming sorority date party.

From that night on, they were nearly inseparable—so much so that Mackenzie even managed to get Jacob into the library multiple times a week!

After graduation, they tackled long-distance: Jacob moved to Miami, Florida, and Mackenzie landed in Chicago. While Mackenzie didn’t mind escaping to Miami in the winter, this time apart helped them build a solid foundation of trust and communication.

The silver lining of COVID was that it brought Jacob to Chicago, where he and Mackenzie now live together.

Since then, they've made the most of their time together—traveling to Italy, Hawaii, Ireland, and more than a few spots across the U.S. After enough airports, passports, and shared playlists, they figured: maybe it’s time to get married.

After over five amazing years, they can't wait to celebrate the beginning of their next chapter with all of you!
