As UC students, Leslie and Jacob were introduced by mutual friends to cheer on the Bearcats together at UC football games.
Unlike Leslie, Jacob wasn't a member of PAC (Programs and Activities Council), but most of his friends and roommates were. When Jacob lived in a house of PAC members, the two started hanging out more and more until they decided to attend a formal together.
Since that day in 2017, the two have been pretty much inseparable- through three college graduations, 6 apartments/houses, several hiking trips, one lost passport, two break ins, and one car theft (later found in the lot of Leslie's apartment).
When the two embarked for their much-awaited vacation to Italy, (one month later than expected, thanks to aforementioned lost passport) Jacob knew it would be the perfect time to get on one knee. He proposed on the Path of the Lemons in the Amalfi Coast, Italy with a stone given to him by Leslie's father.
In 1975, 10 year old Jim was at a Dayton Gems hockey game on a family Cub Scout trip, where he held the winning ticket for a diamond ring. When asked what a 10yo was going to do with a diamond ring, he said "give it to my mom." Grandma Stelzer wore it every day for 40+years.
Today, Leslie and Jacob live together with their pup, Maybe, in Northside, Cincinnati- where they can be walking distance from friends they love and have plenty of space for Maybe to run and Jacob to garden.
