For those that aren’t familiar with our story, here’s a brief rundown.
Brittany first met Jacob when she was 22, he was 21. Brittany was introduced to Jacob through one of his older sisters Cait. They went on their first date off purgatory road in San Marcos for a hike and the sparks were undeniable. When Jacob went to take Brittany back home they ended up staying in his truck for about 4 more hours, talking endlessly finding their similarities one after another. The connection was immediate. They saw each other every chance they got for the next couple months. One thing about this story, is timing. And timing played a valuable part in this romance. At age 21 Jacob knew he was ready for long term commitment, however Brittany was not on the same page. They decided to separate, and Jacob told Brittany he would be here for her when she was ready. A year or so passed by, and they slowly had contact again. This time they both wanted to try more of a friendship.. although those undeniable sparks were all around the two of them every time they were with each other. The romantic tension of the push and pull of trying to decide if they were more then friends or not was making both of their heads spin. So again, timing told them it was not their time for love. In June of 2020, Brittany had accepted a job offer in Dallas. Moving her 4 hours away. They never completely stopped communicating. They would see each other from time to time and laugh and love just like they always had. When Brittany’s move finally came along, Jacob was not ready for a long distance relationship. The hardest part about this part of the story, is Brittany felt a love she had never felt when she was with Jacob. All these years all the things they’ve been through together. He had always treated her like a wife. He always made her feel like his attention was solely for her. So it really confused her that he wasn’t ready for a serious commitment to long distance dating. Brittany moved. And lived in Dallas on her own for a couple years. Then, in April 2022 Jacob came back into her life one more time. She was very hesitant to give him her time, seeing as how she always felt their connection was so strong but not strong enough for long distance dating. So naturally, she made him work for her time. Now and then she would message him back. Until finally she told him, “if you want to come visit me, I’m willing to see if their is any chemistry still there after this time apart” he showed up at her apartment within the week. By the time Jacob got out of his truck, and started walking over to her on her porch.. she thought to herself, “well.. chemistry is definitely still there.” This was the true beginning of their romance. They finally agreed on a serious relationship although it was long distance. And Jacob was out visiting her if not every weekend every other. It wasn’t long after that he decided to fully commit to moving his life to Dallas to be with her permanently. The emotions were heavy, because Brittany had felt this was going to happen since before she moved. They went through a couple months of figuring each other out. It had been a few years, and their connection was as strong as ever. But they were both new people. Who both had ventured through trials and obstacles. They stayed up until 3 or 4 am some nights, talking and figuring each other’s new personalities out. They had to learn to be patient with one another. They had to fully commit to being the other persons person in order to help each other heal and accept this beautiful love that they both had to give. They decided after a few months in Dallas to move back to San Antonio and be closer to family, for a hope of a potential new chapter together. Not long after being back home, Jacob proposed to Brittany on her birthday July 14, 2023. A nearly 7 year romance that never had the perfect timing, finally felt perfect.
Our story is so special to me because we had to truly take the time to learn one another through these years. We had to look deep within our damaged hearts and learn to accept new love and trust new love. We have spent a lot of our time together never trying to change the other person, but always trying to connect to the part of the other one’s heart that needed deep healing and care. Now, we are opening our next chapter to being each others everything and hopefully bringing in to our life manifestations of our love. The hard work that we both constantly dedicate ourselves to in order to keep our romance blooming. The patience we have had to learn to show each other in hard times and the strong foundation of trust that we are working on building in one another. Please celebrate with us these many years of beautiful memories and the many more we have to bring into our story.
