How We Met
In June of 2022, Jacob and Eliana went on a mission trip to the Middle East. They met for the first time when Eliana arrived four days late after having Covid. Throughout the trip, they bonded on things like basketball and having moms with the same name. During the last week, they spent more time together and got a lot closer. On the 12-hour flight home, Jacob asked Eliana to sit next to him on the plane so that they could get to know each other more. After the trip, Jacob went home to Minnesota and Eliana went home to Missouri, but they continued talking through text and Facetime. About a month later, Jacob traveled down to St. Louis, and they started officially dating.

September 17, 2022
Eliana's first time visiting Jacob in Minneapolis! She and three friends made the road trip on a Friday night and went to a Gopher football game the next day.
November 05, 2022
During another one of Jacob's trips to St. Louis, Jacob and Eliana made more memories doing some of their favorite things: exploring the city, visiting Forest Park, taking walks, cooking, and hosting game nights with friends.
January 10, 2023
Over Winter Break, Jacob and Eliana got to spend almost two weeks together. For Jacob's birthday, they drove to Lawrence, Kansas, to watch their favorite basketball team win a nail-biter at the last moment!
May 05, 2023
In April, Eliana surprised Jacob by showing up at a restaurant in Minneapolis. In the middle of finals week the next month, Jacob returned the favor by showing up unexpectedly in St. Louis!

This past summer, Jacob and Eliana went back to the Middle East for another 5.5-week mission trip!
July 27, 2023
While spending the week together in Minnesota, Jacob and Eliana went to a Twins baseball game, a Minnesota United soccer game, and celebrated their early one year anniversary!

While Eliana thought Jacob was working in Minneapolis, he was actually driving down to St. Louis to propose. Eliana thought she was going on a picnic in Forest Park with her friends. When she got there, she was shocked to see Jacob standing in front of a fountain with a bouquet of flowers. She ran down a hill, gave him a hug, and said yes!
