Jacob and Devon met in 2019 at their first training for the United States Army. This training is titled: Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) and is held at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Jacob is from Sarasota, FL and commissioned as a United States Army officer from Norwich University. Devon is from Newtown, PA and commissioned as a United States Army officer from The Pennsylvania State University.

Devon attended a prior Army training with a friend of Jacob's from Norwich University named Courtney Lewis. Courtney and Devon stayed in touch after this training event and were later assigned the same BOLC training date. So excited to see each other again and catch up, Courtney invited Devon to dinner with some of her friends from Norwich University. This is where Jacob and Devon were first introduced. From that point forward, they did everything together.

After this three month long training, Jacob was stationed at Fort Hood, TX. Devon was stationed at Fort Gordon, GA. Jacob and Devon continued to date long distance for three years. Through a global pandemic and a nine month deployment, their love has endured.

Jacob proposed to Devon on October 8th, 2022 at sunset on a private beach in Sarasota. They are now stationed together at Fort Stewart, GA and live in Savannah, GA! They are both so overjoyed that you are planning to celebrate with them on their special day!
