Lauren moved to Northern Wisconsin in August of 2019 to begin working at Lincoln Hills, a juvenile prison, where Jacob was already employed. While Lauren was still training, Jacob ran up to her and introduced himself. Soon after, with a little help from a fellow coworker, the two began talking during night shift on the unit phones.

Jacob and Lauren had their first date on an early morning in January of 2020. Neither got any sleep - they had planned the date to begin once both were done working night shift. The morning was spent talking, laughing, and trying not to fall asleep. Though they were both tired, they knew they wanted to spend more time together - which is exactly what they did. In that time, Jacob introduced Lauren to his son, Rook. The three spent time getting to know each other, and spent even more time playing hide and seek.

Shortly after, in February, the two spent Lauren’s birthday together. From that day forward, Jacob and Lauren were together every day they weren’t working and their relationship grew stronger and stronger.

In August of 2021, Jacob and Lauren purchased a home in Northern Wisconsin. With the help of friends and family, they have been turning a beautiful house into their forever home.

On December 26th, 2021, Jacob proposed to Lauren in the company of her family. He and Rook created a video with pictures taken over the course of the relationship. At the end of the video, Jacob was on one knee.

Jacob and Lauren complete each other in the best of ways and are truly each other’s best friends. Here’s to October 15th, 2022!
