Jacob and Rebecca's love story begins long before they even met! Sarah Kate, Jake's older sister, and Rebecca became college best friends two years prior to Jake and Rebecca meeting! She went to visit Sarah Kate's family before college started again in a few weeks and met their family for the first time! All the while, Jake was in Lynchburg working towards his flight ratings!

Sarah Kate and Rebecca arrived in Lynchburg to start moving into their dorm room together! They drove to Jake's apartment briefly to pick up some things in storage but Jake was at work. On their way back, Sarah Kate told Rebecca about how Jake and her would be perfect together and Sarah Kate's family thought so too after her visit about a month earlier! Rebecca was excited but brushed it off only wanting anything to happen if the Lord desired for it to.

The Lord certainly had His hand on Jake and Rebecca becoming friends! On this morning, Sarah Kate told Rebecca that Jake had texted her asking if she would want to grab coffee sometime, which she replied "yes" to! Sarah Kate sent Rebecca's phone number to Jake and then the excitement of officially getting to know each other began! Rebecca also learned of Jake's incredible ability to make her laugh at any moment through his text before their date asking if he should wear his "Vote for Pedro" shirt, haha!!

The moment their first date began, haha! Rebecca's sweet friends Maddie and Hannah went "outside for a stroll" while Jake picked her up and they left for The Muse coffee shop. After about two hours they headed back to campus both inwardly feeling like they were out of each other's league! Rebecca got just a snippet of how kind, intentional and wonderful Jacob Meetze was!

Jake met up with Rebecca, her Aunt Priscilla, Uncle Jerry, and five cousins at a Liberty football game where they all talked and laughed for hours!

Jake even caught a t-shirt for Rebecca's cousin Keith! It was safe to say he was a crowd favorite!

More dates!

And more intentional talks! Jake led their friendship and time together with purpose. Even though they were still only friends, they had intentional conversations as Rebecca and Jake headed towards becoming an official couple!

And more laughs! They grew to love spending time with each other so much during September!

This Saturday Sarah Kate ran her 10K race and Jake and Rebecca cheered her on! Little did Rebecca know, she would be Jacob's girlfriend a week from this day!

Jacob had asked Rebecca earlier in the week before this Saturday if she would want to go flying with him! She was so excited (she had never flown in an airplane before!) and she said yes! So he made the flight route to Mt. Airy, North Carolina and she was just so excited to go flying with him and have a fun date in NC!

While flying over Smith Mountain Lake, Jake asked Rebecca to do "flight checks" for him while he was flying. With her being new to the whole co-pilot responsibility, she carefully read through each check, being cautious to say each thing right from top to bottom (she really thought they were at risk of crashing if she didn't say it all correctly and in order, haha!). When she read "will you be my girlfriend?" she was so blown away! Jacob was so intentional to plan all of this and she was so so extremely excited to say yes to being his girlfriend!

They landed in Mt. Airy, North Carolina and had their first date as boyfriend and girlfriend at Mill Creek! It was the sweetest time ever!

Time really did fly by when they were together! All of a sudden they had been dating for over 2 months and still loving every minute together!

Rebecca went to visit Jake and his family in North Carolina as Christmas was fast approaching!

Jacob and Rebecca soaked in all the time on his family's farm while she was visiting! Jacob loves all things outdoors and he loved that Rebecca began to enjoy fishing just as much as he did!

Rebecca fit right into the Meetze family and was a joyfully welcomed addition to the Christmas celebrations!

The weeks continued to fly by and it was time for their next semester at Liberty to begin!

Jacob was loved among the Dodson crew, too! On a trip to Farmville, Rebecca and Jacob visited with her dad and brother, Axle! Just like Rebecca, her family loved Jake's sense of humor and kindheartedness!

Spring Formal came which was filled with lots of conversation and laughter with friends! Emily is now one of Rebecca's bridesmaids and Lucas is Jake's best man!

More time with friends gave Jacob and Rebecca a greater sense of appreciation for each other as they grew to love the character and personality of one another more and more!

Summer began and Jake and Rebecca had both chosen to stay in Lynchburg to work and grow in their professions! They spent time golfing and fishing before Jake left for Charlottesville for CFI flight training.

Jake came in from flight training to visit Rebecca and surprised her with chamomile flowers! Little did she know that less than a week later, Jacob would be giving her something far more precious than flowers to express his love and devotion to her!

Even through their time apart, their love continued to grow stronger and stronger!

Rebecca joined Jacob and his family as they went to Ocracoke Island for the day! Rebecca had some suspicions that he would propose while they were here but her nails were chipped! Certainly he would have given her a heads up!

After "going to look at the airport near the dunes" and "finding seashells," Jacob got down on one knee and asked Rebecca to make him the happiest man alive by marrying him and becoming his wife! She joyfully and excitedly said "yes!"

Chipped nails or not, it didn't matter!

Rebecca and Jacob made the decision to pursue one another in engagement towards marriage!

The Lord has been so good and faithful to Jacob and Rebecca throughout their entire relationship and they look forward to His plan for their lives as husband and wife! They await June 7th with joy and thankfulness to the Lord!
