Northern Haus

Our Story

Jacob and Ashley attended the same high school, but although they knew of each other, they didn’t truly connect at the time. They officially met at a Halloween party in October 2020, and from that night on, they both knew their connection was something special. What began as a strong friendship soon blossomed into a relationship in May 2021. Just a few months later, Ashley left for college in August, and they quickly realized their relationship would be a true testament to their love and commitment. Despite the distance — months apart, flights home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and even a few surprise visits — their bond only grew stronger. Over the years, they’ve shared countless memories: playing sports together, cheering on the Brewers and Packers, fishing, hunting, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with their families. When Ashley graduated this past December, both families traveled to Arizona to celebrate. Surrounded by the people they love most, Jacob got down on one knee and asked Ashley to spend forever with him.

Abby Scherg - Matron of Honor

Abby is not only Ashley’s twin sister, but also her built-in best friend. She has been by Ashley’s side through every season of life, always offering love, unwavering support, and a calming presence when it’s needed most. When you see one twin, the other is never far behind. Ashley cannot imagine this day—or any day—without Abby. She is truly her biggest supporter, her voice of reason, and her forever partner in crime.

Lindsay Thaves - Bridesmaid

Lindsay is one of Ashley’s older sisters and one of her greatest sources of support. She is always looking out for everyone, making sure each person feels cared for and loved. Her warmth, thoughtfulness, and steady presence mean so much to those around her. Anytime you’re with Lindsay, a good time quickly turns into a great one. She is truly a blessing.

Chloe Vickroy - Bridesmaid

Chloe is one of Ashley’s college roommates whom she met during her freshman year in Arizona. From the very beginning, Chloe became someone incredibly special in Ashley’s life. She truly has a heart of gold and has stood by Ashley through every high and low. The late-night laughs, long rants, In-N-Out trips, and Swig runs carried them through college—and through life—together.

Taylen Bulkow - Bridesmaid

Taylen is Ashley’s childhood best friend, and they’ve been inseparable since kindergarten. No matter how much time or distance has come between them, their friendship has never changed. She grew up right alongside Ashley and her sisters, becoming part of the family in every way. Even though she’s the tallest of them all now, she’ll forever be considered the “youngest sister” at heart.

Edith Gutierrez - Bridesmaid

Edith is truly one of the sweetest souls you could ever meet. She and Ashley have known each other since kindergarten and have been inseparable ever since. Her energy is contagious, her heart is pure, and her laugh can brighten even the toughest day. Simply being around Edith brings an undeniable sense of joy and happiness.

Lexi Weber - Bridesmaid

Lexi is not only Ashley’s cousin, but also one of her closest friends—often known as Abby and Ashley’s “triplet.” Being the same age, they grew up side by side, sharing countless memories and milestones along the way. Lexi has always been more than just family; she is a true friend who shows up no matter what and is always there when it matters most.

Aleithea Adams - Bridesmaid

Aleithea is one of Ashley’s cousins, and they’ve grown up side by side over the years. To Ashley, she has always felt like a little sister. Ashley has had the joy of watching Aleithea grow into the amazing, confident, and kind person she is today. Time spent together is always meaningful, as Aleithea brings so much light, joy, and laughter wherever she goes.

Payton Bird - Bridesmaid

Payton is one of Ashley’s college roommates who quickly became someone she never wants to lose. They met sophomore year and instantly clicked. Whether they’re enjoying a laid-back day or heading off on an adventure, they always have the best time together. Payton’s easygoing spirit and genuine friendship mean the world to Ashley.

Allissa Horne - Bridesmaid

Allissa is one of Ashley’s closest friends. Although they met in college, they later discovered they had grown up just ten minutes away from each other back home. They often say they wish they had met sooner, because now it’s hard to imagine life without one another. Allissa has become a constant source of laughter, love, and unwavering support in Ashley’s life.

Jordyn Doll - Officiant

Jordyn is Ashley’s oldest sister and will be officiating the ceremony—a role perfectly suited for her. Her faith, wisdom, and warmth have guided Ashley throughout her life, serving as a constant role model while they were growing up together. Ashley is incredibly grateful to have Jordyn leading her and Jacob into this next chapter, giving them the most meaningful and heartfelt start to their marriage.

Elisheba Sippel - Usher

Elisheba is the girlfriend of Jacob’s younger brother, Jackson, and over time, she and Ashley have developed a wonderful friendship. They’ve shared memorable experiences together—whether it’s hunting trips, vacations, or just spending time with the guys. Elisheba is a genuinely kind, warm, and fun person, always bringing energy, laughter, and positivity wherever she goes.

Sina Vialon - Usher

Sina was Ashley’s foreign exchange student from Germany during high school, and the two have been inseparable ever since. She is one of the most down-to-earth, loving, and caring people you could ever meet. Although Ashley and Sina don’t get to see each other very often now, every time they reunite, it feels like no time has passed and they have the best time together.

Jackson Neese - Best Man

“Wink” is Jacob’s youngest and only brother—he’s also Jacob’s trusted hunting partner and right-hand man in the blind. They’ve shared countless memories, from early mornings in the woods and long days fishing to laughter-filled family moments at home. Jackson has always been there for Jacob through thick and thin, making him the perfect choice to stand by his side. It is truly an honor to call Jackson Jacob’s best man.

Henry Hansen - Groomsmen

Henry is Jacob’s cousin, and over the years, they’ve shared countless adventures together—playing baseball, fishing, and hunting. They always look forward to spending quality time together, whether it’s enjoying concerts or staying up late playing cards during family gatherings. Their bond is built on shared experiences, laughter, and the simple joy of being together.

Ethan Scherg - Groomsmen

Ethan is Jacob’s future brother-in-law, married to Ashley’s twin sister, Abby. Jacob and Ethan first met when Jacob transferred to Sheboygan North for high school, and they’ve been best friends ever since. Over the years, they’ve shared countless adventures—fishing trips, family vacations, baseball games, and so many unforgettable memories. Their bond goes beyond friendship; they are truly brothers at heart.

Nik Doll - Groomsmen

Jacob and Nik met when Jacob started dating Ashley, and Nik is now his brother-in-law, as he is married to Ashley’s oldest sister, Jordyn. Over the past five years, they’ve enjoyed getting to know each other through family vacations, holiday gatherings, and countless shared moments. Nik’s warmth and easygoing nature make him a joy to be around, and their bond has grown stronger with every memory they’ve created together.

Brad Rindfleisch - Groomsmen

Jacob and Brad have been teammates on the Sheboygan A’s baseball team for the past seven years, and over that time, Brad has become one of Jacob’s closest friends. Jacob always looks forward to their post-game chats in the parking lot and sharing a few beers together. Brad’s down-to-earth nature and genuine personality make him someone everyone enjoys being around, and their friendship has only grown stronger with each season.

Luke Clappes - Groomsmen

Luke and Jacob have only known each other for about two years, but in that time, their friendship has grown incredibly strong. They love spending time outdoors, riding four-wheelers, and sharing stories about hunting. Their shared sense of humor is unmatched, making every moment together fun and memorable

Harry Steldt - Groomsmen

Harry and Jacob have known each other for the past eight years, playing together on the Sheboygan A’s. Their friendship extends beyond the baseball field, whether it’s bird hunting or competing in dog tournaments. Harry has always been one of the most caring, genuine, and down-to-earth people to be around, making every moment spent together enjoyable.

Luis Elizalde - Groomsmen

Luis has been a longtime friend of Jacob’s, ever since they became close in high school. They worked on numerous construction projects together and shared many of the same classes, forming a strong bond along the way. Over the years, their friendship has only grown, and now they enjoy trips and nights out together. Luis is truly one of the most down-to-earth and one-of-a-kind friends Jacob could ask for.

Cooper Gosse - Groomsmen

Cooper and Jacob have known each other for quite a while. Their friendship began in 2019 when they played baseball together for Sheboygan Legion, and later continued with the Sheboygan A’s. They enjoy going out together, watching Brewers and Packers games, and most importantly, Cooper has proven to be one of the most genuine and down-to-earth people Jacob has ever met.

Is there transportation to the wedding?

YES, Sister Bay Trolley Company will be transporting guests TO and FROM the venue. Location of pick up and drop off is Open Hearth Lodge and Birchwood Lodge.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Please arrive 15-20 minutes PRIOR to the start of the ceremony, as it is a bit of a walk up to the ceremony!

WHERE IS THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION TAKING PLACE?

The ceremony and reception will be taking place at the same location. You will not need to leave The Northern Haus at any time after you arrive.

WILL THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

The ceremony will be OUTSIDE in the Forest Retreat, and the reception will follow INSIDE.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I CAN'T MAKE IT?

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know ASAP and RSVP "no" so we can plan accordingly.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES DURING THE CEREMONY?

We will be having an unplugged ceremony. Please turn off your cell phones and cameras. We invite you to be fully present during our ceremony.

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

- Rate of $219/night for Lodge Rooms (choice of King or 2Q) plus taxes for up to Double-Occupancy

- 3rd and/or 4th Adult/Teenager is additional $10/person (kids 12 & under are no added charge)

- Guests can upgrade to premium rooms and/or suites at public rate based on availability.

- To claim a room from the block, guests can call in and mention the wedding couple and dates desired to receive the locked-in base rate. They will need to provide their contact info and a one-night deposit to hold their room on the block (with the balance due on arrival). Their deposit is refundable up until 2 weeks prior to the date of arrival (a $15 fee will be withheld from the refund to cover transaction costs).

- If the guest wants to bring a dog(s), we have a dog-friendly section of our lodge. The rate is the same as the block rate, adding a $15/night per dog fee. Guests must specify if they need a dog-friendly when booking.
