Sometimes life comes at you unexpectedly. You really never know what it could throw at you. You could be playing pick up basketball at your college Rec Center, like any other day, but be blessed with a moment that would shape the rest of your life.


There they were, two Division 1 Athletes… and a random medical student. Unexpectedly, they went undefeated that day. Numbers exchanged between two of them so they could play again sometime. Week by week he would ask her to come hoop, but each advance was met with the same response. She was just too busy. Freshly graduated, her family in town from Switzerland, doing an internship for Senior Behavioral Health. While his time was taken up by his education.


She had almost forgotten about him.


One day, we were walking through our workplaces. One thinking about playing basketball later, while the other thought about how to best utilize her values and skills to better the people around her. Unexpectedly, they crossed paths again in the lobby. For her, embarrassing. For them, fate and the rest unfolded according to Gods plan, guiding their journey in ways they could never have anticipated.
