Jacob and Sally met when Jacob was helping Sally's sister (Wendy) move into her dorm at Arkansas Tech where she was playing basketball. Jacob attended Arkansas Tech and was the student assistant for the women's basketball team.

Sally and Jacob spoke some while moving Wendy into her apartment. Later that night Blake (the assistant coach at Arkansas Tech) and Jacob joined Sally's family for dinner in Russellville, Arkansas. A few days later, Sally moved into her apartment for her junior year at University of Arkansas and Jacob prepared for his senior year at Arkansas Tech.

Jacob direct messaged Sally on Instagram and they talked for a few weeks before Sally made a trip to see her sister but also to see Jacob again. On a whim, Sally invited Jacob to the Arkansas vs. Texas football game in Fayetteville and they had a great weekend. After this game, Sally invited Jacob to travel to Texas with all of her friends for the Arkansas vs A&M football game. This went down as one of their favorite weekends of college. They started dating officially following this fun weekend on September 26, 2021.

The next year and a half consisted of many trips between Russellville and Fayetteville, lots of basketball games, and a lot of fun. In February 2023, Jacob bought the most beautiful ring and asked for Sally's parents blessing. They then started to plan the proposal.

On April 1st, 2023, Sally was taking her senior pictures on the campus of the University of Arkansas and had her family in town for the fun weekend. Suspecting nothing she took pictures at her favorite spots around campus, planning on ending at the Greek Theatre. Jacob and Sally's sister, Wendy, had "gone to sonic" during her photos but really went to set up the proposal. As Sally approached the top of the Greek Theatre with her cousin, Courtney, and her photographer, she noticed huge letters spelling out "MARRY ME" and Jacob standing at the bottom of the theatre. Sally walked down the steps noticing all of their family and friends there to witness the proposal (as well as a bunch of girls taking prom pictures.) Sally said her easiest "YES" ever. Jacob had then planned a engagement party at one of Sally's favorite restaurants in town where her best friends surprised her and they were able to celebrate with family and friends.

Now, they are so excited to celebrate their love on May 19, 2024!
