We met in the middle of the Covid lockdown on a dating app that both of us reluctantly downloaded. It turns out that it was the best thing that either of us could have done! From the very first date, we had an instant connection and so much in common.
Over the years, we took on many challenges and adventures together. We both moved multiple times, traveled to new places, changed jobs, and bought our first home together!
On Friday, March 10th, 2023, Jacob had a dinner reservation set up at one of our favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. This reservation was set for months and Abby knew that we were planning to go out after work. What she didn't know, is that Jacob had been hiding an engagement ring and planning a night full of surprises for months.
We went for a walk along the stone arch bridge in Minneapolis before dinner. Abby noticed that Jacob was a little nervous and quieter than normal. Finally, Jacob got on one knee, and proposed. Abby was stunned and immediately called her family to tell them the exciting news.
When Abby called her family, they were actually getting ready to surprise her at a local bar to celebrate once our dinner was over. Once again, Abby was shocked when she walked into the bar and saw her family, and even more surprised when Jacob's parents were hiding in the corner after making the 5-hour drive to celebrate us. It was the best night and our greatest memory together!
