Our Wedding

Our story started when Kristina messaged Jacob —unaware that he was serving overseas in the Middle East. What followed was the challenge of navigating an 11-hour time difference, but despite the distance, we found ways to stay connected. We spent months getting to know each other through phone calls, texts, and endless conversations that helped us bond in ways we hadn’t imagined. Kristina would use her lunch breaks to walk around downtown San Jose while Jacob would stay up late in a bomb shelter, searching for better reception and hiding from the sun just to hear her voice. Though the distance was hard, our love for Jesus brought us closer. We’d find Bible reading plans to study together, sharing moments of faith amidst the many time zones, late nights, and early mornings. After what felt like a lifetime of waiting, Jacob finally flew home on August 28th. Just a week later, on September 5th, we met in person for the first time at the San Francisco Airport. As soon as we embraced, it felt like time stood still. That hug, lasting what felt like an eternity, was filled with so much love, joy, and anticipation. In that moment, Jacob knew with all his heart that Kristina was the one he had been waiting for.

Our Story

This Is Us

Jacob and John met in 2009 during middle school. The two participated in cross country and track together, and experiences such as science camp led the two to be best friends. This friendship grew further as they attended high school and continued to pursue sports and choir, at one point even having the exact same class schedule. Some favorite experiences include science camp, high school choir, college pilates, sunrise runs, bible study, and late-night video games.

Through a shared sense of humor and similar values, Jacob and John’s complementary brotherhood has carried them through the peaks and troughs of life, with both looking forward to what life has in store. 

Born and raised in the Philippines, John moved to Gilroy, California as a kid. He now serves in the U.S. Coast Guard and has traveled to all seven continents. His hobbies include running, making art, studying languages, and reading his Bible.

Kristina and Annie met at Annie’s 23rd birthday party! The lovely Laila invited Kristina, they met, and the rest was history! Two kindred souls, work hard play hard. 

Kristina is one of the hardest working women I know. She’s incredible driven and dedicated and does it all with grace. She loves God and her family so much and had a heart for adventure and fun. It’s been an honor witnessing Jacob’s pursuit of her heart and commitment to loving her. I’m so excited to witness them commit to love each other throughout their lives and grow closer to each other and God



Annie Seymour

Kristina and Laila met in the most serendipitous way — outdoor rock climbing on a random January morning in Santa Cruz in 2022. Their friendship grew as their climbing skills grew, spending nearly every week at the climbing gym learning how to belay and dyno, getting pumped both in their arms and in their friendship. Laila introduced Kristina to the line-dancing bar Mavericks, and from there, their friendship really solidified. They learned how to boot-scoot together through life and have made countless memories along the way.

While it is true that their rock climbing adventures have since slowed down, it is safe to say that their friendship won’t — they are ready to stick with it through thick and cliff.

Laila Birznieks was born and raised in Castro Valley, California, with brief periods spent in Australia, the Netherlands, and Latvia for school and work. Laila enjoys camping, dancing, volunteering with church youth, and cultivating her Latvian-American heritage.

As one of Kristina's friends and biggest fans, I couldn't be more thrilled to stand by her side on this incredible day! Our friendship began when she was my daughter’s youth group leader, but she quickly became so much more—a true member of our family. We share a love for Jesus, dogs, hockey, and, of course, all things delicious!

Watching her and Jacob’s relationship grow has been such a blessing, and I can't wait to see them officially become a family (pups included!). I'm beyond excited to celebrate this new chapter in their lives.

Kristina and Sabrina first met at a country line dancing bar, where they immediately hit it off with endless things to talk about. Bonded by their shared love of line dancing, country music, rodeos, concerts, and late-night In-N-Out runs, their friendship quickly became something special.

From girls’ nights out to cozy evenings, Kristina and Sabrina have shared countless memories together. Sabrina feels so incredibly honored to stand by Kristina as she marries the man of her dreams. Watching Kristina and Jacob fall in love has been a privilege and a blast (special shoutout to Jacob for introducing MREs to the girlies)!



Sabrina is a Bay Area native who enjoys traveling, dancing, baking, and home DIY projects. 



Sabrina Shupp

Josh was born in the Philippines but grew up in Gilroy, California. He enjoys learning languages, reading, and target shooting.
Josh and Jacob first met in middle school doing cross country. Josh's older brother John introduced the two of them, and they've all been inseparable friends since.
Their friendship developed through the wrestling team, during which Josh could never break out of the cradle hold. In the following years, they maintained their friendship through visits and video games. Both Josh and Jacob eventually joined the National Guard, further fostering their bond. Though now living distantly, Josh and John still maintain a profound friendship with Jacob and visit as often as they can. Josh was born in the Philippines but grew up in Gilroy. He enjoys learning languages, reading, and target shooting.

Josh Angkiangco

I met Kristina in the high school program at our home church, where we instantly bonded over our shared love for bands from Warped Tour and our mutual appreciation for the homeschool kids who made up much of our youth group at the time. Our friendship has only deepened since then. We spent several years working our first jobs together at a Kumon Learning Center, where we continued to uplift and encourage our coworkers and students. Through the many ups and downs of life, we've supported one another with kindness and loyalty. It’s such a extreme joy to celebrate Kristina and Jacob’s wedding, and I’m excited to continue supporting them as they begin this new chapter together, trusting that God has wonderful plans in store for their journey ahead.

I met Jacob during our time in the military, where we quickly became close friends through shared experiences and a bond forged in tough situations. Whether it was long deployments, late-night conversations, or supporting each other through challenges, I’ve seen firsthand the kind of loyalty and character Jacob has. It's been an honor to watch him grow and find such a wonderful partner in Kristina. I'm excited to stand by his side as he marries the love of his life and to continue supporting them both as they begin this amazing new chapter together.

Q: What is the date and location of the wedding?A: The wedding will take place on June 14th, 2025 at the Mathison Ranch, located at 505 Caballo Court, Hollister, California.&nbsp; Q: What time should guests arrive?A: The ceremony begins at 4:00 PM. Please arrive 15–30 minutes early to allow time for seating.&nbsp; Q: Is there parking available at the venue?A: Yes, parking is available on location.&nbsp;

A: Please RSVP by May 1st, 2025 using the link provided on your invitation or by return-receipt via mail.    Q: Can I bring a plus-one?  A: We kindly ask that only the guests listed on your invitation RSVP.   Q: Are children allowed? Unplugged.

We are happy to announce that our ceremony will be unplugged!   An unplugged wedding ceremony is where guests are asked to not use their phones, tablets, or cameras during the ceremony. The goal is to help guests be present and in the moment, and to allow our wonderful professional photographer to take clear photos without being obstructed.   We cannot wait to share this time together with you on our wedding day!
