Jacob & Rebekah

July 6, 2024 • Chico, CA

Thank you for visiting our wedding website! We are so blessed with amazing family and friends; we are excited to celebrate with you all on July 6th!

We met in September 2023 via our small group at Grace Community Church in Chico. The group facilitated the opportunity for us to get to know each other and, at the conclusion of the series in December, we went on our first date. Our dating phase was efficient (aka fast), and conversations quickly turned into what marriage could look like. We felt God leading us in that direction and we were engaged on March 15th!

Below are insights from our perspectives:

Jacob: Rebekah has been such a blessing in my life. Our Grace Group was small (only 5 of us) and one of the others was Rebekah’s roommate. As the group was nearing our final weeks, I knew I wanted to ask her out. Yet, the risk was great because, if it didn’t work out, I’d imagine Rebekah and her roommate would leave the group, leaving membership in the group down 40 percent (lol). Thankfully, everything has worked out quite well!

We have spent a lot of time together since beginning our dating relationship. In fact, we only live two miles from each other! It has been a major blessing living so close to each other. Some of our favorite activities include walking around the neighborhood, trying local Chico restaurants, picking oranges at her family’s orchard (shoutout @ericksonoranges), and spending time with family/friends.

It has also been a joy to get to know her family over the past months. The Erickson family has been incredibly kind and generous to me and I can’t wait for many more experiences together.

I feel so incredibly blessed to be marrying Rebekah. She is so incredibly beautiful externally and, even more so, internally. Rebekah loves the Lord and consistently strives to honor Him in every area of her life. She is the type of person where many people consider her a close friend (like seriously anyone, her good friends range from the age of 15 to 90). Rebekah is well-known for the personal, thoughtful touch she puts into everything she does. I’ve witnessed her spend multiple hours on the seemingly smallest gifts, just to brighten someone's day for a moment. She has all the qualities one would want in a wife.

Rebekah is an answer to prayer and I am so thankful for her. The Lord is good!

Rebekah: Jacob and I met this past September. He was the leader of our small group at Grace Community Church. The Grace Group was such a blessing to me because my grandma had recently passed away a couple of weeks prior. It was nice to be able to have fellowship with fellow believers and to have something else for my mind to focus on instead of the loss.

It wasn’t until a few weeks into the group that I really noticed Jacob and thought to myself “He seems like a really genuine person, man of the Lord and what I would want my future husband to look like.” I tried my hardest to push the feelings of liking Jacob aside because the group was still going on and I also wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting my hopes up to then be let down in the end, but those feelings kept getting stronger as the weeks went on and the group continued.

Fast forward to the end of November when the group ended for the period, I wrote a card in hopes of seeing Jacob again whether that be at church, catching up for coffee or at another small group and a couple of weeks later Jacob asked me on our first date! I can’t tell you how excited I was because by this time, I really liked him. I had prayed a lot before and after our dates thanking the Lord for Jacob, praying for another date. During this time I was also praying for God to make it known to me if Jacob was the one for me because as I got to know Jacob more and more I could see a potential future more and more clearly and still being guarded, wanted to make sure before I fully fell (not literally). I truly do feel that after our 3rd date, the Lord told me that Jacob was and is my person. After that I continued to see in Jacob and feel affirmations from God that Jacob was and is the person who God placed in my life to be my husband. As I reflect and look back on our story, I can’t help but thank God and to give Him all of the praise! Without Him, I wouldn’t have anything (including Jacob) and for that I will forever be grateful!

Jacob is a true gift from the Lord to me and to many other people. He has made such a difference in my life, and I know that he is making a difference to countless others (students, coworkers, football players, friends to name a few). He is a true man of God, someone I can look up to, have fun with, laugh and adventure with and so much more. I could go on and on but should probably stop so you can continue checking out our website!

In conclusion, I am so excited to start this new chapter with him, serving the Lord together and seeing where He and our future takes us! Thank you so much for being here, to celebrate with us! We love you all so much and are so thankful for you!

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. -Psalms 136:1
