Jake and Ellea grew up knowing each other as family friends, seeing each other at camping trips on the Selway and Vandal football games. They became great friends the summer of 2019. That all changed in the fall when Jake told Ellea he had a crush on her. Not wanting to risk their friendship they decided not to start dating at that time. In God's timing they both decided to give dating a shot.

In December of 2021, Ellea asked Jake to Tri Delt's winter formal, and shortly after Jake thought he had a chance to get out of the friendzone. A month later, Jake invited Ellea over for dinner and he cooked her favorite pasta for her (they consider this to be their first date). Finally, on March 12th, 2022, Jake asked Ellea to be his girlfriend and fortunately she said yes! They continued dating for two and half years, building on their friendship, going to concerts, camping trips, many Vandal football games, and countless other adventures together!

After lots of prayer, Jake proposed on October 26th, 2024 in front of the University of Idaho's Admin building.

We have seen God's hand at work throughout our relationship over the years and are endlessly grateful for everything He has provided! We are also very blessed to have our families and friends who show us so much love and support. We are very excited to celebrate with you all on October 4th!
