Not many people can say they met their husband or wife in preschool, but we can. There was an ornery little boy who loved to mess with this cute little girl every day. Every day, Adelyn would come home and start off her stories with “Jacob Wiggins did … today.” Since it was an everyday thing, her parents started to beat her to it and ask her what Jacob had done as soon as she got in the car. Even though Jacob remembers none of this, you could probably say that we liked each other back then. Once we hit summer camp, we would always pick on each other and mess with each other. Jacob was always asking to play 1v1, but Adelyn would always say no because she knew she would beat him (A: I was totally better than him, he just didn’t want to admit it). We wouldn’t play basketball, but we would wrestle on the big blue mat. Jacob would normally win this one though, she didn’t really stand a chance. Once we got out of summer camp, we never really saw each other because we went to different schools. We did, however, keep up with each other on social media. Flash forward to January 7, 2022, when we ran into each other at a Nixa vs Rogersville basketball game. Later that night Jacob messaged Adelyn on Instagram with one of the cheesiest lines ever. He sent a picture of a basketball and said, “I’m sorry my basketball rolled into your DM’s, but while I’m here what’s up?” From there the conversation started and we talked about so many things. Adelyn even lied about not seeing him at the game when she noticed him sitting above her. Jacob tried multiple times to set up a date, but every time something happened to ruin the plans, or she just would say no. Jacob even offered to drive up to Kansas City to go on a date, but she said no again (J: That is not how that happened, but she claims that is exactly what happened). After 6 months, Adelyn sent a random message about golf and Jacob tried one last time to set up a date. She said yes and we finally went on our first date on June 15th. We went to dinner in Branson, rode the Ferris wheel, and then went into Springfield to get pineapple whip. On June 17th Adelyn came and played sand volleyball with some of Jacob's friends and also met Jacob’s parents (without any warning). From then on, we spent just about 3-4 days a week together staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning. Now we see each other about every 2 weeks going back and forth from Kansas City to Spokane. Long distance is hard, but we quickly knew that we wanted to get married, so it made it a little bit easier (sometimes). We cannot wait to get married and start our lives together.
