Your Questions, (Hopefully) Answered!
How do I work the RSVP page?
Here on our site, you will see a tab labeled “RSVP.” Please enter your first and last name as addressed on your invitation. By entering one name from your family/group, you should then be able to accept or decline for each of you within your group separately. A couple of simple questions, although not mandatory, will follow! If you cannot find your online invite or run into issues, text Alexia at (815) 503-9839.
What do I wear? Is there a dress code?
We highly encourage semi-formal attire such as a cocktail-length (or longer) dress or dressy separates for women and a suit and tie for men. We ask that you try to avoid sneakers and jeans. Keeping this in mind, do also take our Midwest advice: it will most likely be hot and humid! Time outside may range from 1-2 hours between the ceremony and cocktail hour; lightweight materials will serve you best. Colors and patterns are up to you!
How will the bar operate?
The bar will run as an open bar for the first 90 minutes (5:30-7 pm) — bottled beer, wine, and sodas will be on us. Mixed drinks will be cash/card for the whole duration. Following 7 pm, ALL drinks will be cash/card only, so we recommend getting yourself something earlier on. Water, coffee, and punch will be provided for free throughout the entirety of the event.
Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 3012 Sandstone Dr. Apt. 5, Manhattan, KS 66502-6503. We ask that you try to avoid bringing physical gifts besides cards to the wedding for convenience.
What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?
We recommend arriving about 30 minutes before the service begins. You may want to allow additional time to find the parking lot, walk a short bit to the ceremony site, etc. Don’t feel pressured to arrive too early – it will probably be fairly warm out, so enjoy your car AC for a bit!
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
We are opting for an unplugged ceremony. That is to say, we would like guests to keep their phones away in a safe place and simply enjoy the moment. Our photographer and videographer will be in charge of capturing those special moments. After the ceremony when the party starts, snap away! A photo area will be provided at the reception; please use it!
What’s the easiest way to get to and from your venue(s)?
We highly recommend driving (or riding with a friend) or grabbing an Uber to our ceremony. We highly encourage driving as a parking lot will be available, and you can choose to drive home when desired. The ceremony and reception are within walking distance, but driving may be best considering the probable heat and your shoes/attire. If you so choose to drive, we just ask that you drive and get home following the reception responsibly.
Am I allowed to bring my children? A plus one?
Our invitations are extended as they are addressed. If your invitation reads “Mr. and Mrs.” or a specific set of names, only those listed are included in the invitation. If your invitation is addressed to “The [Last Name] Family,” your household is included (e.g., yourself, your spouse, and your two children). If you are allotted a plus one, your invitation will specify such. Otherwise, we ask that you do not invite additional guests. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via email at jacobplusalexia24@gmail.com, or by phone: (815) 503-9839.
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
We’ll be serving fresh hors d’oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a buffet with a selection of meats, pastas, salads, and other fresh sides. Enough options will be provided to accommodate a vegetarian diet. Please let us know if you have any other diet-related questions.
