Jacqueline and Doug met sophomore year of high school in Mr. England's study hall. Throughout high school, Jacqueline and Doug hung out as friends attending concerts, parties, soccer games, football games, and just driving around in Doug's many cars.
After high school graduation, Jacqueline and Doug continued to hang out as friends during holiday breaks and over the summer. During Christmas break of 2016, Doug asked Jacqueline a simple question. "Why didn't we ever date?" to which Jacqueline panicked and swore the two were just friends. Six months later, Doug actually asked if they could date, to which Jacqueline ran away (literally to Ohio) and the two grew apart.
In the Summer of 2020, Jacqueline was living in Old City when her mom mentioned that Doug's parents were selling their coffee shop. After three years of not talking, Jacqueline decided to send Doug a text asking how he was doing. After that text, the two spent nearly every day together and on August 16th, Doug asked Jacqueline if she'd like to be his girlfriend, to which she did not run away but did say "I guess so". Spoiler alert.. She also didn't run away when he asked her to marry him on November 12th, 2022. That time, she simply said "yes."
In the twelve years they've known each other, Jacqueline and Doug have traveled to Florida, both as friends and as a couple, the Poconos, New Orleans, the Catskills, & Colorado, welcomed a niece and a nephew while watching their older nephew continue to grow, built a home in Oaklyn, spent too many nights at the Manor Bar, continued to raise Jacqueline's (now Doug's) two cats, adopted Oakley (their Golden Retriever) and are still just driving around in Doug's many cars.
