Kyle and I met thanks to social media! However we were friends on Facebook and Instagram for over a year before he worked up the courage to slide into the DM’s! It took additional messages and weeks before we finally set a date to go out. Our first date was at Meritage in East Greenwich. Funny part about that night was my mom telling me just a few hours before our date that she had made plans with her girlfriends to go there that night also (without knowing that’s where Kyle and I were planning to go). We decided to still go to Meritage and Kyle ended up meeting my mom on our first date (talk about not awkward at all right?!)…the night was still perfect and we ended it with going to Main Street Coffee. Hours felt like minutes because we talked and laughed the entire night. It was simply easy from the minute of us meeting each other. When Kyle went to drop me back off at my house, he surprised me with a dozen roses from the back seat of his car. He gave me butterflies then and he gives me butterflies now. I thank the song ‘Humble and Kind’ by Tim McGraw for bringing us together. The song will always be special to me and now us because it reminds me of my dad. The song was released the same year that my father passed and it reminded me of what my dad would say to me and my sisters. Kyle just so happened to one day post that song to his IG story and the rest is history. If it wasn’t for ‘Humble and Kind,’ I may have never responded to the random guy in my DM’s and I may have never taken the chance on love, myself, or fate. The saying now hangs on a wall in our home…’always stay humble and kind.’
