It all started with a little matchmaking magic from a dear friend, Neaveh Gank. Jada, an outgoing and confident spirit from Burlington, WV, was never one to shy away from something—or someone—she wanted. Joey, a quiet and reserved soul from Elk Garden, WV, wasn’t sure what to expect when they first met. But from the very beginning, there was an undeniable spark between them. Their first date was anything but traditional. Knowing Joey’s more introverted nature, they opted for a quiet evening at his family's house. It was the perfect way to get to know each other without distractions, and by the end of the night, one thing was clear—this was just the beginning. While Jada may have made the first move, it didn’t take long for Joey to realize that he didn’t want to let her go. With each passing day, he found himself drawn to her energy, her laughter, and the way she made life feel a little more exciting. He was the one to pursue her after that first date, making sure she knew just how much she meant to him. From small-town roots to big dreams for the future, their journey has been filled with laughter, love, and the unwavering belief that they are meant to be. Jessika is Jada’s first cousin and the daughter of Julie Heavener-Welch and Mike Welch. More than just family, Jessika has been one of Jada’s closest and most loyal friends since birth. Their bond runs deep, built on a lifetime of shared memories, laughter, and unconditional support.

Alex was Jada’s lifelong friend, cousin, and a cherished part of her heart. From carefree childhood days spent playing together to growing into young women side by side, their bond was deep and enduring. Alex’s sudden passing on April 4, 2025, left a void that can never be filled, but her light continues to shine through the memories they shared. She is remembered with immense love and is deeply missed on this special day and always.

Lyla is Joey’s stepsister. She and Jada first met when Joey brought Jada home to meet the family, and they instantly clicked. Since then, Lyla and Jada have become close friends, bonding over their love of makeup, hair, and all things western-glam.

Jada met Abby during her very first semester at Frostburg, when she didn’t know a soul. Abby welcomed Jada to sit with her, and from that moment, a lifelong friendship began. She’s funny, loving, and fiercely loyal—someone who would do anything for Jada. We tease each other like sisters, and Jada can’t imagine this day without her by her side.

Hailey and Jada first bonded as kids at her grandmother’s house. After reconnecting years later through Hailey’s marriage to Jada’s cousin, Jacob, their friendship was renewed. Jada is happy to have Hailey share this special day with her.

Jacob is Joey’s brother, and they share a close bond built on growing up together and a mutual love of gaming. Almost two years Joey’s senior, Jacob played an important role in mentoring and guiding him throughout their childhood. Though Jacob now lives far away, their brotherly connection remains strong across the miles.

Jordan is Joey’s brother, sharing a special bond that only siblings can know. From childhood adventures playing in the dirt and running excavators for the family business, to growing into fine young men, their connection remains unbreakable and strong.

Coltyn has been part of Jada’s life since they were little, spending countless hours playing and roughhousing in her basement toy room. His friendship with Joey grew over years of family gatherings, where they bonded through friendly competition and shared laughs—especially watching the “elders” battle it out in volleyball, kickball, and whiffle ball. Coltyn is also the brother of our beloved bridesmaid, Alex Kile, whose spirit will be with us as we celebrate. He’s been a steady, fun presence in our lives, and we’re so glad he’s standing with us on our big day.

Josh is married to Jessika and has become a great friend to Joey since the early days of his relationship with Jada. The two quickly bonded over their shared sense of humor—especially when it comes to the women in their lives—and have been making each other laugh ever since.

Joey and Clayton’s friendship began when Jacob first introduced them as kids. From that moment on, they bonded over joking around, playing video games, riding ATVs, and even teasing Grandma Jean. Over the years, that childhood connection grew into a lasting friendship. Now, as adults, their bond remains just as strong—and Joey couldn’t imagine celebrating this special day without him.

Bobby is the proud and loving father of Jada. Though he may come across as tough and reserved—more at home on a Harley than at a formal gathering—those who know him best understand that beneath that rugged exterior beats the heart of a devoted dad.

Jada has always been the apple of his eye, his little girl with a big personality. From teaching her how to hunt and fish, to riding four-wheelers and perfecting her signature sass, Bobby passed down more than skills—he helped shape the strong, confident woman she is today.

Jada may be starting a new chapter with the man of her dreams—but to Bobby, she’ll always be his little girl. And while giving her away wasn’t easy, he takes comfort knowing she picked a guy who loves her almost as much as he does... and who’s smart enough not to challenge him to an arm-wrestling match.

Dixie is the proud mom of Jada—her one and only, the light of her life, and her greatest accomplishment. Their bond is one-of-a-kind and unbreakable. From an early age, it was clear Jada wasn’t the pink dress and hair bow kind of girl Dixie once envisioned. Instead, she was busy wrestling off the couch like a WWE champ, tracking deer in camo, and playing in the mud—and Dixie wouldn’t have had it any other way.

She has loved her strong-willed, spirited girl from the very beginning and always will. Today, Dixie gets the ultimate full-circle moment: watching her “fierce kitten” transform into a breathtaking bride, walking down the aisle to marry the kindest, most loving man they could’ve ever hoped for.

Dixie is endlessly proud of Jada and Joey and wishes them a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and love that grows stronger with every passing year.

Rick is Joey’s father and the owner/operator of Heritage Stone, the family business. Over the years, he has been the steady “rock” of the Hanlin family and the most influential figure in Joey’s life. A strong, hardworking man with a gentle heart, Rick has led by example—and the man Joey is today reflects the values and strength he learned from his father.

Angie, Joey’s stepmother, has been a guiding light for the family through the years. Her caring and loving spirit has brought strength, comfort, and unity. Her unwavering support and compassion have shaped the heart of the Hanlin family.

We lovingly remember Bobbi Jo, Joey’s mother, whose memory is carried in our hearts. Though she is not with us in person, her spirit is present today and always. We know she would be very proud of the man Joey has become and is smiling down on him from heaven as he marries the love of his life.
