Our Wedding

The Prelude:  Shemar's journey with Vibrant Church began in 2022, where he discovered a supportive community and a profound sense of purpose through service. In 2023, he experienced a transformative rebaptism at a Baptist Student Union Family group session. That same year, Jada joined Vibrant Church. After graduating from college, she took a courageous step by moving to Columbus to embark on her career, eager for new opportunities and experiences. October 2023, their story begins…

A couple the crowd roots for but the two are too clueless to realize that their future was standing right in front of them. Serving at Vibrant’s Youth Ministry the two encounter each other in October 2023. Sharing Hellos and Goodbyes, the first few words of a love to remember.

Your Favorite Slow Burn…

After several months of communication and mutual gatherings, Shemar finally asked Jada on a date! A romantic picnic and of course ice cream to follow. A month later, on July 17th, 2024, he asked her to be his girlfriend with these few words : “In the Bible, it says that man shouldnt be alone… with that being said..” *holds up sign* *Several Screams from Jada* and she said Yes!

Sparks Become a Flame

As they keep God in the center of their relationship, the love grows deeper and stronger. They cherished their time with each other whether it was serving at church or watching a movie together. They knew the joy and peace they felt in each moment had to be established through Christ. So they began exploring what marriage could look like for them.

Within a Year

On Sunday, October 26, 2025, Shemar took Jada out to eat at Harvey’s and to get Ice-cream at Southern Sweets. As they walked along the Lock-n-Dam, he received a call to come help at church. What Jada assumed was just another call, was actually a set up for her proposal! Their favorite song, Pillows by Emmanuel, played as he got on a knee and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes, so much peace and excitement filled the room as they walked out to see their family and friends ready to celebrate with them!
