Transportation

Visiting Montreal

By plane

If you are flying into Montreal, the closest airport is the Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

You can take the 747 bus from the airport to get to downtown and then take the bus or subway to your accommodations. (Sometimes the bus stops close to several hotels.) Fares cost $10, and you can buy tickets from the airport Metro (subway) kiosks.

You can also book an Uber (download the app, and you can use the discount code jadel1005ue) or take a cab at the taxi lane. Fares start at $35.

By train

If you are taking the VIA Rail to Montreal, you will be arriving at the Gare Centrale, which is linked to the Metro station Bonaventure (orange line). From here, you can take public transit, a cab or an Uber.

By bus

If you are taking the bus to Montreal, you will be arriving at the Gare d'autocars de Montréal, which is a 5-minute to the Metro station Berri-UQAM (orange, green and yellow lines). From here, you can take public transit, a cab or an Uber.

Public Transit

Public transit in Montreal is composed of buses and subway trains (called the Metro). Trips can be paid using individual tickets or a transit card (called the OPUS card), on which fares can be loaded for individual trips, a one-day or three-day pass, or a weekend, weekly, and monthly pass.

STM fares can be found here.
