It all began when Jesse joined one of Jade's favorite local bands, Gillian Carter, in the summer of 2012.

Jade got to talking to her best friend about how cute the new bassist in the band was, and luckily for Jade, that friend ratted her out to one of their mutual friends who quickly told Jesse that he had someone new crushing on him. They exchanged phone numbers through those mutual friends and quickly fell into texting each other all the time.

When they met in person for the first time at Gillian Carter's show at the 321 Local the next month, they were instantly connected and felt like they'd known each other for years. Jesse's sense of humor and genuine interest in Jade's thoughts made the connection feel effortless.

From that night on, their lives intertwined. Their relationship blossomed from friendship into something deeper and more meaningful when Jesse asked Jade to be his girlfriend on November 21, 2012. The band became a significant part of their shared experiences, and the pair traveled to countless gigs, each one a testament to the evolving rhythm of their relationship.

Over the years, Jesse went on to leave the band to focus on school, and Jade decided she needed a change of scenery while she found her educational path. After dating for about 4 years, the pair made the huge leap to move across the country together to Boulder, Colorado. Any initial worries about moving in together quickly faded away as Jade & Jesse found new friends and a new chapter in their story unfolded. Jade later went on to graduate, and from there they moved across the country again- this time to the green mountains of Vermont the summer of 2019.

Navigating Jade's first post-grad job, Jesse's new position at work, and the loss of Jade's mother in a rural state was not without its challenges...and then came COVID. All of these things came together to form the perfect recipe of homesickness and the pair went to work on a plan to move back home to Florida.

Having found new career paths which made it possible to move back home, they made their way back to Orlando and have been back in The Sunshine State since September 2021. The years since have been filled with too many nights at Will's Pub to count, a renewed sense of community, and continued love for one another.

On July 1, 2022 at Le Bouchon du Grove in Miami, Florida Jesse asked Jade to officially join their lives together at one of her mom's favorite restaurants. She of course said "yes!!" and cried, and then they went on to continue the evening seeing one of Jade's favorite bands, The Cure. It's safe to say this was the best night of Jade's life, seconded by ghost hunting in Savannah at her Bachelorette trip.

The 2Js are ecstatic to celebrate their love together in the company of family and friends and share the musical stylings of the band that started it all.
