Most high school loves seem to fade as fast as they appear, but it’s safe to say that Josh and Jade are one of the few lucky ones. From teenage kids who had just fallen in love, to young adults who are now more in love than ever, it’s hard to believe that the time has passed so quickly. How can over a decade of dating and engagement memories including: highs and lows, ups and downs, big fights with small love, and small fights with big love, have passed by in the blink of an eye?
Josh and Jade met through mutual friends when Josh was 18 and Jade was 16. Their first date night went as most, awkward and terrible, with Josh not leaving a very good first impression with Jade’s dad. Jade’s mom even tried to poison Josh by feeding him raw chicken at the first family dinner. But as the dates became more frequent, the texting became non-stop, and the phone calls became longer, it was obvious that this relationship could last more than a minute. However, at the time, I don’t think anyone expected over 10 years of dating and 2 years of engagement.
Josh and Jade went to college together and both graduated from WVU. College for Jade consisted of studying, stressing and eating. There were even a couple emotional breakdowns thrown into the mix as well. College for Josh consisted of studying and feeding Jade.
Laying on the beach at Nags Head, hiking the mountains of Montana, and watching the pouring rain from the windows of the Hawaiian condo are all memories that won’t soon be forgotten. However, the most memorable vacation moment is when Josh got down on one knee as the sun was setting over the gorgeous city of Florence, and asked Jade if she would marry him.
It is impossible to share all the stories and memories that have been made over the last few years in just a few short sentences. To some people, writing down all these memories may seem like writing an entire book. But for Josh and Jade, this is only the preface for the book of loving memories that they will share together as husband and wife.
