For Jaden, Stephan entered the scene when she received a text from her old college roommate, Denae, asking if she would be interested in connecting with this guy, Stephan. (Shout out Pam and Diego for your work behind the scenes.) Denae sent Jaden some (apparently very out-dated) photos and gave Stephan a rave review. Jaden agreed to let Denae give Stephan her number. Eventually, Jaden received a text from Stephan. Since Jaden was in Saskatoon and Stephan was living in Winnipeg, the two agreed to set up a "FaceTime Date." Things went well. Fortunately, Stephan was coming to Saskatoon for a friend's wedding, so only two weeks after their FaceTime, the two got to go out on a "real date." From there, their love story continued...

Chris is quite obviously Stephan's brother. Chris is 5 years older than Stephan so for many years he was the dominant male, until Stephan grew 4 inches taller! Still they've managed to be great friends and Chris' lovely wife Cynthia and three kids, Isaiah, Gianna, and Nora have brought so much joy into Stephan's life.

Riley and Stephan met on the second day in university in Engineering. Neither of them are engineers, but they became best friends quickly after becoming roommates in 3rd year.

Eric and Stephan met in university working at the school gym. There was an immediate connection when they started talking about lifting weights and climbing. Since then they've been great friends going on yearly adventures together.

Jeremy and Stephan met in Comox BC when Stephan arrived as a new Search and Rescue Navigator. They got along instantly and Stephan taught Jeremy everything he knows in the gym...but Jeremy taught Stephan everything about Navigating so I guess that's fair. They've stayed in touch over many years and Stephan hopes they'll some day be posted to the same city again.

Danijel and Stephan met when Danijel picked up Stephan's sister Nicole for a first date.... they're now married and parents to a lovely daughter, Klara. Stephan thinks that this beautiful couple owes a lot to him for facilitating this initial meeting, but being close to Klara in Winnipeg is all he asks for. Danijel fits perfectly into the Germaine family and he's been like a second brother since they day they met.

Adam and Stephan met a few years ago at Jaden's birthday party. Adam soon invited Stephan to join his new men's group and they've been great friends since then. Stephan has been blessed by Adam's house renos, which have given the two a chance to get to know each other over some hard manly labour.

Jillian and Jaden met in their living room when they both ended up renting a room from the same house in University. As (productive) procrastinators, they offered each other moral support while finishing 4 am essays. Naturally, they became quick friends. If marrying Stephan didn't work out, Jaden's plan B was to move back in with Jillian.

Alexa is Jaden's older sister. Alexa has always been there to make sure Jaden doesn't take herself too seriously. Alexa is also Jaden's go-to person to make sure her outfits are sister-approved. Alexa has been the best support already and is always there to make sure people bring GOOD VIBES ONLY. 10/10 recommend you take her wedding dress shopping.

Lacy is Jaden's oldest sister. Though Lacy moved out when Jaden was still quite young, they have bonded in their adult years. Jaden has Lacy to thank for introducing her to Thai food, sushi, and two-stepping. Lacy is also the mom to Jaden's built in BFF, Presley (age 2.5), and her newest little buddy, Bodie (born May 2025).

Sidney and Jaden met as pre-teens when their parents signed them up for the same 4-H horse club. They trauma bonded over carpooling to riding clinics at 7 am on Saturday mornings. When Jaden got her license, they spent their evenings driving around town and redeeming free coffee during the McDonald's promotion.

Jessica and Jaden bonded when they spent a year attached at the hip as Calgary Stampede Princesses. (2018 forever!) This experience sent Jessica and Jaden all over the world. However, the girls really got close during the quiet moments in-between. After Jessica and Jaden returned to "peasant life" they have remained close friends, despite Jaden having moved cities (twice)!

Brianna and Jaden met during a prayer challenge leading up to Easter 2022. After Easter, the girls continued to meet over weekly morning coffee. One morning, Jaden mentioned that she had been on a date with a guy. The girls soon realized this "guy" (Stephan) was Brianna's roommate's brother (and landlord's son). Over the next three years, Brianna watched the relationship develop to it's current state, and has been the biggest cheerleader through it all!

Alissa has always been there for Jaden with a glass of wine and a spare mattress. In fact, in the "early days" when Jaden didn't get the invite to a Germaine family wedding, Jaden went to Alissa's instead. Jaden has been going to Alissa for years for advice on boys and politics. Let the records state that Alissa has been team "Stephan" from Day 1. Please note, the bride and groom cannot be held responsible for the things she says on October 18th.

Sharon and Jaden met when Sharon married a family friend (Jacob). Jaden and Sharon were kindreds from the start. Jaden began spending so much time at Sharon's house that she was dubbed a "sister wife." Everything Jaden knows about motherhood came from spending so much time with Sharon as she grew her family. Please note, any embarrassing stories that Sharon shares on October 18th are probably not true.

For those out of town guests wishing to explore the area, Banff National Park is only an hour drive away. Be advised that during October the Canadian Rockies can be really cold and it could easily snow! Dress warmly if you plan to go there and give yourself lots of time as the park is almost always busy. Please note that because Banff is a National Park, you will need to purchase a park pass for your vehicle. (This can be purchased on the main highway as you enter the park.)
