Bronté and Jaden’s love story began as all good love stories often do, with a Snapchat. Jaden’s Young Life leader met Bronté while working for a weekend at a Young Life camp. He learned that Bronté was going to USC and knew that Jaden was also. So he gave Bronté’s Snapchat to Jaden, and their story began. Fast forward later into freshman year at USC, Jaden and Bronté were again heavily involved in Young Life. They enjoyed getting to know each other strictly as friends. Word even began to spread around the community that they would be the perfect couple because of their similar interests and personalities. Jaden and Bronté absolutely loathed this idea. They fought against the “shipping” HARD. They even went as far to tell separate people that they “would never date” the other. Fast forward to sophomore year, Jaden actually began to have feelings for Bronté, but she was holding strong to never, ever, EVER dating Jaden. She even made it clear in the way she treated Jaden, trying to distance herself. At one point, Jaden was about to ask Bronté out for a date, but he never did because of how distanced she was. Fast forward again, past Covid, to junior year around April. Jaden and Bronté were actually enjoying spending time together, and Bronté’s walls began to fall. Many days as “just friends” had gone by, but with the amount of time they were spending together, it was time for something to change. On the way into a friend’s birthday party at Price house, Jaden stopped Bronté outside and said, “Hey, I like you. Like, I really like you. You know what I mean?” To which Bronté said, “Yes I do. Me too!” And then they walked inside the party not to mention anything until later when they were driving home. This is where Jaden asked Bronté on their first date! After a few dates, it turned into asking her to be his girlfriend! Now, 3.5 years went by with many ups and many downs, including a short break in the relationship and a break in Jaden’s neck. Jaden and Bronté are very grateful for every single moment learning to trust in the Lord and in each other. We can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their love story this May!
