What if I have never been to a Latin Mass?
We are so excited to share that our wedding mass will be a Latin Mass! With this in mind, please do not feel out of place if you have never been or have only been a few times. We will have booklets to follow along with the English translations if you so choose. A good tip is to just watch others around you for when to sit, stand, or kneel. If you are a Catholic in the state of grace at mass, keep in mind that communion is on the tongue only, kneeling at the communion rails.
What is the dress code?
We ask that you have a formal dress code in mind for this special day. This includes dresses if possible for the women and suits if possible for the men. For the women: please make sure dresses are at least knee length and cover the shoulders. Veiling is strongly encouraged, but not required :).
Can I take pictures?
We will have a photographer present to professionally capture these special moments. We do not want anything to detract from attention to or reverence for the Holy Mass, therefore, please make sure all cell phones are silenced and refrain from having them out during the ceremony and mass itself. This being said, we understand the excitement during the wedding party procession, so if you do happen to take any pictures/videos of the wedding party or bride at this time, please be discreet! If you are sitting right by the middle isle, please do not have phones out as it could be distracting to the wedding party. Ultimately, we want you all to be fully present and in the moment during the procession as well as the ceremony and mass.
How did you meet?
We met our freshman year of high school through Holy Family Homeschoolers, a homeschool group our families were both a part of. We have endless fond memories of having fun together through high school events hosted by HFH.
What is the parking like?
For parking at St. Agnes, there are two parking lots. One is located directly on the lefthand side of the church in between the PSR building and the Missionaries of Charity convent if you are facing the front doors. This parking lot is closest to the side door of the church. We would like to keep this lot reserved for wedding party and immediate family if possible. There is also the larger main lot directly across the street further to the left from the side lot and the church campus. In addition to these lots, people often park on the street and on the concrete on the side of/behind the convent.
Where should we send gifts?
Any gifts should be sent to 37035 Mill Wood Ave. Geismar LA, 70734.
How do I RSVP?
When/if you have received an invitation, please enter your name into the search box under the RSVP tab. You will be able to find your invitation and RSVP for either just yourself or you and your family if you choose!
