In July of 2019, I was celebrating my birthday with my family at Treasure Island Casino. David and his friends had gone to the casino before going to the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. I was standing with my mom, grandma, and aunt when I saw a very handsome guy walking towards me. He came up to me and said, Hey, I know this is awkward, but I just lost my money at the black jack table, I thought I'd gamble one more time and ask for your number. My face instantly turned bright red, and I could hear my family snickering behind me as I was speechless for what felt like forever. We exchanged numbers and he started walking away, but thankfully grandma Deb was sitting there otherwise he wouldve walked away before we even knew each others names! A whole long week later, David texted me asking if I wanted to go to dinner sometime, he asked me to choose the restaurant, he said anywhere, so Punch Pizza it was. That is where we had our first date followed with Cold Stone for dessert. A short two weeks later on August 3rd, he invited me to his cabin where I met his amazing family. While star-gazing we saw 8 shooting stars and he asked me to be his girlfriend. A little over 4 years later, on September 2nd, my family, and Davids family were playing kick ball at my grandmas cabin, which is coincidentally 2 minutes away from Davids family cabin. It was the start of the game and my mom had put me on first base and David was the first to kick on the opposite team. He kicked it right to me and I thought, “what a lame kick thats an easy out”. I grabbed the ball, ran to the base, turned around, and there he was lunging towards me on one knee. David asked me to spend the rest of my life with him! It was a hands down yes from me! Here we are just a couple months away from saying I do. We cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
