Austin's Story

Jaedyn and I first met during freshman year of high school in art class. During that time we sat at the same table and shared our first laughs together. After that year we didn't do that much talking until our senior year of high school. As I was in Mr. Grace's auto class and Jaedyn was his student aid, we started becoming friends once more. After a couple months, I strolled into class as usual but homecoming was around the corner and we both got started talking about it. Instead of one of us asking each other or someone else, we made the famous hoco poster together in class and posed for pictures. After that we were pretty much inseparable. We graduated during Covid together and took Covid prom pictures together. She came to me one day asking if she could move to Texas with a friend, just on a whim. I'm thinking "what the heck" but then I remembered that I'm the go with the flow person here. So, I told her "yes of course, we only live once and there's so much more out in the world than Ramona". After about a year of long distance, I followed her out here to Waco, still one of the best choices I've made. She flew out to Ramona, I packed up my truck and she drove with me 21 hours, stuck in a small place with me and 2 dogs at the time until we reached our new home. Now after almost two years of being out here together, I've finally asked her to marry me and I couldn't be happier.

Jaedyn's Story

Austin and I first got to know each other during art class our freshman year. He was the guy who snuck off campus, gave me the rest of his watered down coffee and actually knew how to draw. I never really thought someone I sat at a table with for a couple hours a week would end up being the man I marry. Four years later, I was sitting in auto complaining to Mr. Grace about not wanting to go to my last homecoming alone. Mr. Grace scanned the auto shop and pointed to Austin, covered in oil and grease with his hair in a man bun and said "Take that doof". I immediately got up and asked Austin if he had a date to the dance. When the answer was no, I asked him if he would ask me because I wanted a date for senior year. If any of y'all know Austin, I'm sure you know his response was "Sure, I guess" while laughing and shrugging his shoulders. I told him I needed a sign and wanted him to ask me like everyone else. He then proceeded to make the homecoming proposal sign that still hangs in the RHS auto shop. After homecoming, we were inseparable. We worked in the same shopping center so we would get to work early, stay late and plan our breaks at the same time just to hang out any chance we got. We spent all of Covid making the best out of our senior year together and any plan I had, he was right beside me. When I decided I wanted to move out of Ramona, he was nothing but supportive, even though he couldn't go with me. We made the best of a long distance relationship with many flights and FaceTime calls. One day I got a call saying he was ready to move to Texas. We picked out a house, packed up his truck and finally moved him half way across the country to live together. We have had the best time figuring out life together and making the most of it. I have known for a long time that Austin was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and I couldn't be more excited to say "I do".
